I noticed PSA CR7s out of CLT in the official airline guide effective May. So, are they actually flying or is the negotiating hampering operations (grounding the airplanes)?

Any former D328TP pilots now flying the CR7 - what do you think about it vs. the venerable prop? How do you like it?

psa

yep, saw one tonight in Sarasota, FL. at around 5:00. Couldn't figure it out at first but asked the agent, hey there was an idea, they said "PSA".

Company is flying the airplanes under our current CBA which gives them 90 days to due so. After that, who knows.

328 Dude,

Thanks - I really like your avatar. How many more CRJ-700s expected on the line through the end of 2004? Also, will the CRJ-200 and 700 be cross-qualified or a separate pilot group like Comair and ASA?

Pilots will eventually be dual qualified. Differences training will probably be done at recurrent or at a PC I think.

As seen on other posts there will be a blended pay rate also.

Right now there are 3 700s. 2 flying and one standby I think is what they're doing. Planes are supposed to get delivered every month but how many will depend on whether or not some of the 200 options turn into 700s instead.

All three 700's are flying. NUmber 4 is supposed to arrive in July. We currently have 26 50 seaters and 3-700's.

THe delivery schedule slows off a bit in June and July and picks up again in August.

GE has no plans to convert the order into 70 seaters, if they did, they would have to invest more financing into Airways.

We all know they are walking on pins and needles right now.

I would bet the current firm order's stand.

I know of a few 328 drivers that are doing the IOE thing for the 700. The exact word used would end up censored. So lets say it was enjoyed.

Smoking dude,

So, does that mean they didn't enjoy the experience flying the 700 vs. the 328s? What are you implying?

My buddie said the 701 is bad A$$. Enjoyed the extra power over the 200 series , and the climb to 410, etc etc.

As for the Dork, well it is not in the same class as the above aircraft, however the aircraft will be missed. Nothing like 250+ knots to the marker and still having to add power to make it to the runway.

I'll second that! I was in the j/s on the 328 a couple days ago and I forgot how much I missed that plane! Too much fun. :D

If you don't mind me asking, but what do you miss about the 328 vs. the CRJ? What in particular? I have flown on the 328Jet and I was quite impressed.

I have yet to go into the CRJ yet since I'm a pretty junior Captain, however, from the guys that are in the CRJ, they say they miss the avionics, the FMS and not having to look up at the top of the glareshield for the runway when you break out.

I can stand up in the bathroom in the Dork, but not the CRJ.

Yeah the Honeywell Avionics are nicer, but it all comes down to what you're used to. I kinda dig some things about the Collins now.

I miss:

--Visual Approaches to 22 @ DCA
--Static takeoffs that make all kinds of racket
--250 to the marker
--Being able to dive outta the sky like a Stuka when the condition levers are at max
--Filling in all the gaps in PHL on 35 with A330s landing on 27R ("Best forward speed, I mean, minimum approach speed, I mean...Bluestreak cleared to land")
--Being able to take 8-26 in PHL and avoid the traffic jam
