SAY NO WAY!

It is a bad deal all around.

There is no guarantee that the 200's will stay on property and no guarantee that pay will not increase till 2011. The F/O's got sold out last contract negotiations, don't let it happen again. Sure the Captains pay might be at par with the "Industry Standard" but the F/O's sure as hell is not. Can you see yourself walking around the terminal covering your badge because you now resorted to at or below Mesa standards?

US Air will not send the airplanes to Mesa, they are fed up with their lack of performance. How can Parker go to his shareholders and tell them that it cost him 4 million more to send the airplanes to Piedmont than PSA. Even if we get a raise we are the cheapest best reliable choice. Don't sell out the F/O's again, we need a raise period!

PSA Management has the money and they have the ability to pay us a fair wage. They might not want to negotiate now but after we say "NO" they will bring us back to the table....Just watch.

VOTE "NO"

Word of advice for PSA, Get the 900's and then vote for higher pay the more airlpanes you have the better, that should be everyones goal.

ANY pilot groups first priority is to secure jobs for it's members. PSA pilots need to get the bigger equipment on the property first, then worry about raising the rates. Because if you want the higher rates when the planes arrive, they will go to a lower cost operator.

Darn right superkooter and 80for80 have it right on the money. Quit worrying about peer pressure and do whats best for you. SO what if some PDT or ASA knob gets their panties in a wad. The bottom line is you don't have to work with the rest of the industry. Growth now more pay later is the motto that must be used in todays world. You can always live to fight another day with growth however you can not fight another day when your in an unemployment line. I say do it if nothing else to get a good laugh out of watching a few of the vocal minority blow a gasket. The flying goes to the lower cost operator period. Always remember this it is not your job to make every other pilot groups job easier.

Two things. No, just one:

What agent would represent pilots in future negotiations for higher pay? Hmmmmmm? You sure play two sides of the same fence. Thugs today, benefactors tomorrow.

Okay, so I had two points:

If they can go away to another operator now, they can go away to another operator in the future. What's so hard to understand about that? Here's the twist, though- PSA is #3 on that list. Mainline wants them to go to that wholly-owned. I doubt they'd go anywhere else if PSA played firm ball.

Exactly, Look at mainline now. They are starting to do the same thing, just trying to get a/c on property any way they can. Thats why it is important for psa to get those 900 or mainline, mesa or awac might get them.

Parker hates MESA. Plain and simple.

AWAC pilots won't fly the jet for any less than PSA would. There is no real whipsaw here.

That should say "Look at mainline now, trying to get more jets on property again." Anyone remember MDA and those E-170's? Just get 'em on property then negotiate? Seen that one already, next.......

Um, good theory, but watch out for Goatjets.

Um,

everyone says parker hates mesa so much and these 900's will never go there. i dont believe it, has anyone seen the c-concourse in clt lately its got about 10 freshly painted(in new us airways colors) 900's there at all times. is it that big of a stretch to imagine sending 20 more their way?

However, a company dictating terms with this "Take it or leave it" type attitude certainly degrades any further negotiations in the future. How would you like it if they throw a contract at you under the same premise, knowing that if you caved once, you'll cave again.

The time to negotiate is now, not 5 years from now. If the company is successful then so should its employees.

In the July Newsletter it states that PSA was number 1, 5 straight months for on time departures and arrivals. And they reward us by offering bigger airplanes to fly, more passengers to haul around, for NOTHING in return but some empty promises.

Put the better schedules, better hotels, duty rigs etc... in writing then we will talk. Till then, NO

"Gosh, Mesa SUCKS."

Doug Parker, USAirways CEO

You don't have access to the crew news webcasts, when without fail the pilots would compain about Mesa. His answer: We're stuck with them for now. East was able to dump their contract in bankruptcy, West didn't go into bankruptcy so we have to stick with their contract.

Now why would he say that? Because he adores a crap airline with a crap product?

YES people here are scared. They believe every word that comes from management. News Flash!!!!! Management will do anything to get us to fly 900's at poverty wages. Do not believe a word you hear.
1) Piedmont-----More expensive option
2) Air Wisky-----Already have a 90 seat rate and Mainline doesn't like it.
3) Mesa------We already know that they are not a realistic option. Besides because they have contract negotiations looming.

VOTE NO then we have set the bar for management to counter offer.
Vote yes and we are screwed for 5 or more years. The time for resonable wages is today not 5 years from now!

You getting what you deserve pay wise is NOT going to keep your company from growth. Get what you want now. Your managment wants you to think you are holding them back, your costs are a low percentage of their overall cost. If it makes them money they will do it with or without the extra few bucks an hour.

Exactly.

40 airplanes doing 10hrs a day is 400hrs a day.

$5 F/O raise would cost $2000/day extra.

That would be $730,000 in pay raises. Seing as though 40 airplanes is almost a billion and a half dollar order, this is chump change.
So Ok Management says there is just no money for this. So then charge the customer. A $5 raise to me would mean a $0.22/hr price hike for the customer. Whoa 22 cents. Instead of a gas surcharge call it a pilot meal plan.
