Give him his endorsement and send him on his way to the FSDO!!!
Then schedule him for his first Instrument lesson. Sounds like a dream.

Him: Is that attached to the medical?

Him: It's expired.

While pre-flighting and untying the tail, you notice the tie-down ring is scraped and a little bent. Is the airplane airworthy?
