Man they just placed an order for 3.8 billion to boeing. I have never heard of them, i mean, i am new to the industry but wow that is no small potatos order. I guess they are an all first class carrier.

does anyone know anything about them and what their plans are.

Currently flying Boeing 757's in a 126 seat layout. Premium service to include extra room, premium meals, etc. Sounds like an anti-LCC type concept. Went to their website and couldn't find much more about them, other than the fact that the $3.8B order is for 7E7's.

...or they are just a bunch of investors smart enough to purchase some delivery slots from Boeing during a downturn, so they can sell them at the peak of the next cycle when airlines are scrambling for those planes.

I got a tour of their current only jet. They have the contract to carry the press corps following Bush around. It's all business class & very nice. They've got a section in the back currently set up w/ coach seats for the camera & sound crews - temporary until end of press corps contract. The pax i talked to all love it. The FAs all like the "professional atmosphere" in the back. Currently only about 6 pilots, but hiring expected soon. Sounds like a great idea to lure business travelers away from majors & LCCs.

75/76 type and International ops experience preferred. I heard that former National guys will get preferential interviews.

...never mind (Gilda RIP)
