The first 5 of us will be leaving for a class date the 17th of March.
Nothing was mentioned about a slow down. although rumors were spread about only 2 leaving in March which apparently ain't so now ,according to HR in PHX.

Originally 100 in 2008 to leave PDT for AAA, now to be reduced!

Source?

MW's management contact that said only 2 would go in the beginning?

word on the street

I'm not trying to be an ass but don't put too much stock into word on the street. The streets on the eastern shore need repaving.....

The Sky Is Not Falling....

The source for 100 hired is the 09/12/08 memo from Steve F. 6 in Mar, 6 Apr, 11 every month after.

Good morning Capt N.

My question was "what is the source" for the above comment that there will be less and or a slow down as you mentioned at the top of this thread??????????

If it is speculation on the word that Capt MW started sharing , it is not correct..............

The very latest news that I acquired from PHX just a couple of days ago dispels Capt MW's rumor that only 2 will be leaving in March.

What Is The Source On The Reduction?????

Maybe , Yes The Sky "is" Really Falling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

word on the street is 75 or less going

Could it be that only 75 want to go?

Maybe everyone is drooling over those LTP rates.
I can see it now, PDT gets 2 large TP's on the property and every one on the line starts fight over who gets to fly it for the 95 bucks an hour! :D

Maybe it was management plan all along to just get those LTP rates established to slow the exodus flow to mainline..........

How's that for a conspiracy theory?

You are assuming that PDT will actually GET new airplanes...

BIG assumption brotha!

You might be right about only 75 wanting to got to mainline though. A lot of us just can't afford it.

Delta is hiring 500 pilots this year along with every other major. Don't worry to much about it.

But I can tell you this, if they stop upgrading then there goes the attrition threw the roof again.

Every pilot group who has ever accepted any kind of "flowup" scheme has always been dissapointed.......The "flowup" portion of these agreements is never as good a deal as the "flowback" provision.........

It's kinda like playing 3 Card Monty........

very true, I never wanted to make the next job a stepping stone but it might just turn out to be that whether I'm planning on it or not.......

F the creditors...... I'm moving on, cause nothing ventured is nothing gained. I'll sell ice cream like my mainline buddy before I do J for J for Mesa though.

What Is The Source On The Reduction?????

Ask Pissmont:

A. We will continue to send pilots to Airways throughout the year, although the total number may be somewhat less because of Airways reducing their hiring.

A. We anticipate five going in March and another five in April. We are progressing with our plan to staff up to address pilot attrition in 2008. At this stage, we are well positioned to meet the demand.

Michael

Hey capt Z did you actually get a class date from the big house...or is the 17th still an estimated date?

Two part question:

Capt N...have you gotten an interview yet...hate to see you getting the shaft?

First part answer:

Spoke to our PDT prez. the other day and he said 5 of us will have a class date on the 17th. I was "unofficially" told by Mr. D (PHX HR) That he will be calling us in a few days to set up the pee test and give us a heads up on receiving an overnight package from FED EX with the official welcome letter.

IT DOESN'T GET MORE UNOFFICIALLY OFFICIAL THAN THAT I GUESS.......
(not even sure what that last statement means.)

Capt Z Did they tell you if indoc will be in clt or phx? There's about 12 of us getting paroled from PSA that are in the 3/17 clt class. Welcome aboard.

Hey Surf,
Just from what I read on FI someplace and heard from another one of our "token 5", I gather that indoc will be in PHX. I should have asked Mr. D in HR the other day. He will be calling us in a few days with our "official notice". I will ask him then and will be happy to share with you. I did hear from another one of our Capt's that all the new interviews will be done in CLT now, I wonder if that could possibly change the location of indoc. too???????
Thanks for the welcome and glad you guys are breaking out!
Soon to be FO"Z"

During the invterview at PHX, they did tell me that our indoc would be for two weeks in PHX. Then they would split us up into groups for aircraft training.

Gathering from the info from everywhere, there are going to be 5 from PDT, 12 from PSA. Plus, how many ever they decide to add.

Apparently, I am supposed to be in 3/17 class so I will see you all in PHX.

P.S. If you have an access to theHub, you can look at their training manuals, checklists, QRHs, etc., for all their aircraft types, plus FOM training manual and the actual FOM. All their bulletins are there also. Just go to Flightcrew Info>Flight Operation>Electronic Library

Have you gotten anything from HR??

Mr. D called and left a message for me just now, to inform me that I will officially be in 3/17 class and that he will be sending me pee test information.

Anyone got a similar call??
