Is Houston Evacuating too soon? Maybe its the Katrina hangover....

isn't preventing another New Orleans worth the pre-mature evacuation? isn't it worth to maybe save a life or 2? they said it went from a tropical storm to a Cat II storm on monday, that's quite a leap. darn golf is like 85-90 degrees. it's going to make ALL the hurricanes beasts until it cools down.

History shows again and again how nature points up the folly of men...

The title of this thread proves what I said on the Katrina threads. Had Bush gone in and ordered an evacuation on NO before the storms hit people would be saying that he overstepped his authority. There is no way that the politicians can win in this situation. If they order an evacuation and nothing happens they were too cautious, and if they wait to order one and something does happen they don't care about the people.

There is one inescapable fact in all this though, and that is if Mother Nature wants to win, she will. There is NOTHING that man can do to challenge her power or wrath. No person, politician or otherwise, will ever change that fact.
