Business as usual at Ameristar non-rvsmd lears are buzzing at 270kts at FL280 and burning about 100 gals more an hour. Im told all Lears will be done by peak (apr/may).
I heard an Ameristar requesting FL410 two nights ago, so I'm assuming that particular aircraft was rvsm'd. However I was talking to a few crews in the lovely place called HKS about 8 months ago and they were saying that their company was not doing rvsm. So who knows, maybe that Lear was retrofitted.
I talked to some old friends of mine at a cargo outfit, and their boss elected not to comply with RVSM. So they say, in the middle of the night, ATC occassionally wavies the RVSM and lets them climb if there isn't too much traffic...
