I managed to go from AMF to a GIV/GV/G550 PIC slot ... and lovin it! AMF will prepare you to go anywhere you want to, providing you have all the other prerequisite requirements, i.e. personality, education, interpersonal skills, etc., etc., etc. AMF will make sure you can fly, they'll make sure you can "cut the mustard", and probably better than anyone else in the industry. But beyond that, the rest of the package is up to you.

Only on reserve. The only scheduled Metro run is out of Austin, but that might be changing.

Particularly in DFW. Seems there are always "Texas wanna-be's" tryin to get here.

Seriously, if that is what you want, best bet is to get into the company SOMEWHERE and then standing bid into it.

I was reading in some other posts that times for individual runs varies widely. Do you mind posting some of the turbine runs and their respective block times? I'd say I'm more interested in SLC, PHX, BUR, OAK, PDX, and BIL. I prolly hit most bases, just wondering about those I thought off the top of my head.

I know what I've asked might be a lot to type, so just a sample will do.

Out of SLC in the BE99 (rough daily block times):
EKO-ENV 2.3
PUC-VEL 2.5
RXE 2.2
JAC 2.2
TWF<2
PIH <2
VGT-BUR 5.7
RKS-JAC 3.5 (saturday)
Routes change, but these tend to be typical for the BE99. BIL has some good runs of 3.0+.

I got 2.4 out of it yesterday... thanks to bad weather and worse controllers.

Of course I had nothing better to do on a Friday night than sit on the ground in PIH for 2 hours waiting for release... and then holding for 30 min. halfway home. :nuts: :uzi:

I got three phone calls in one day, actually in an hour, offering me other bases and equipment, the fourth call was what I wanted. If you want DFW Metro, just refuse the job until you get what you want. They have periods when they are desperate for pilots and they'll do what it takes to get a qualified pilot. They just might hit one of those desperate times real soon.

No, he's a reserve just like the other Metro guys in Dallas. If he has his head screwed on right and ditches his Thundercat attire he might be able to move on pretty soon.

Out of curiosity, what are the reserve shifts like in Dallas? Is it an all day reserve shift similar to what they have in CVG? Or do you have it divided up as AM reserve and PM reserve?
