The problem is that hatred filters down to the average worker and they develop a biased against pilots.... not knowing...and now not caring for the work we do, what we need to do to get there......

Recall...no one gets paid if the jets don't move....

Now, that doesn't mean pilots should be treated as elitist... but when pilots have concerns...should management listen.....??

I am not sure hatred is the right word.

from being on both sides, and dealing with Nonconnah and many of the managers.

the best way for me to put it is at Pinnacle a pilot is looked upon as the "help", simple labor no different from the guy/gal throwing the bags. JY once said in an infamous meeting... "pilots are a dime a dozen, there is a person right now willing to take your job"

That is the one of many core issues. They don't see a pilot as a professional, we are simply the labor.

Agreed and so very true.... the reason why management likes bag carts better than pilots is bag carts, make money for the company, but they don't talk back and don't require benefits...

The hatred comes from organizing and belonging to a professional organization... in our case.. ALPA. They hate that they have to deal with pilots, work with pilots, check with pilots, etc.... Liken it to someone approaching a parent and saying "I represent you child.. deal with me not directly with your child". Now, lets not assume that the parent..or in this case the company knows whats best for pilots. But that is the companies perspective and that hatred is dissiminated throughout the employee groups...
