Most PCL pilots realize that it is a pretty stupid policy and don't do it.
Speak for yourself, I've been taxiing with the recog/taxi lights on since I started working here. I didn't previously use the wing inspection lights though, by the time someone is close enough to notice those and realize they're too close, it's probably too late. But since this company has a tendency to fire someone for sneezing the wrong way, I try to follow the FOM as much as possible; snitches are out there...

When I said WING lights, I mean WING lights! Not landing, taxi, pulse, turn-off, anti-collision, strobes, logo, or position lights. THE LIGHTS THAT SHINE ON THE WINGS!

For those who correctly responded to the question, thanks! Though, it's still annoying.

You gotta do, what you gotta do!

The problem is my friend there is not a single light on the CRJ labeled "wing light". So you can jump up and down all you like, people were giving their best guess at your uninformed question.

Those particular lights are called "wing inspection lights"

Well for those of you that only have experience in a CRJ, FYI they are call wing lights in many other aircraft!

Actually a$$hole, the FO does handle the lights at Pinnacle. The FO sets the lights when doing the After Landing Check. I hope that clears things up for you dumba$$.

Exhibit A

This is a post from Lequip:
------------------

We are talking about discretionary (spelling?) use of the lights during routine taxing you dip$**CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED**. Does the FO at 9e turn the lights on and off for the Capt during the entire 25 minute taxiout during a busy push? I don't think so, so shut the heck up you piece of crap gulfstream puke/whore. Just because you turn the lights off during your aftertaxi check/flow doesn't mean you run the lights during the taxi you dumba$$. I hope that clears things up for you gulfstream punk.

This is a reply from me:

So, at least for me, this kind of post gets you 5 days in the penalty box.

As a ramper, I have been startled to see CRJs coming down the alley late at night, they are not very visible from a distance unless they have more than their navs & anti col on. Mostly because I didn't hear them coming with all the jet noise, these are relatively quiet idling. I can't see the anti col from head on for some reason.

ASA killed a ramper in 1999 just like this. He ran a tug into the side of a Brasilia during heavy rain.

Wing inspection lights improve safety on the ramp. Off the ramp they probably do more harm - especially higher planes like 757's. But get them on crossing a runway....

Yah I know I have flown the Saab 340, the EMB 135/145, and the CRJ and three airlines my friend!!

ASS/U/ME

If you would kindly notice that I wasn't quoting you, and I was, in general, referring to those who only have experience in a CRJ.

BTW, Your rebuttal sheds light on the fact that you can't hold a job.

ROFLMAO!

Sick 'em! That guy has been a pain in the tail for a LONG time now. How many times in the penalty box before you get booted for a month or three? *snicker*

Incidentally, I've flown about 7 turbine aircraft at 5 jobs in 12 years. Just because we moved around a lot early in our career doesn't mean someone can't HOLD a job. How about: "better job opportunity" or "aircraft sold and not replaced" or "company went out of business"?

It's a weird ride in this career, sometimes we don't always get to pick a career carrier on our first or second try! ;)

Just dodging furlough buddy. Keep 'em coming though because this is kind of fun.

ps I have 1200 in the CRJ. Is that enough?

pps you improperly took my crm statement personally. It was meant to be lighthearted!!

SO HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

Thanks to the mods for putting a stop to that guy. He has no respect for fellow pilots. 3M or 9E guys don't deserve or appriciate that kind of talk.
