Anybody , knows anything about planet? what are they up to? plans? I haven't seen them around lately.

I haven't heard or seen much of them as of late, use to see them in KIND quite often once upon a time ago. I think that some music mogal owns Planet, their also seems to be quite a bit of "negativity" surrounding them or that is atleast what I remember from a few ex- Planet drivers.

anyone else?

Sorry, no first hand info, but second hand, I have heard that place can be a nightmare.

If you read the Planet section of Bad-Aviationjobs.com, there are quite a few disgruntled ex-Planet guys piping up.

I have seen them recently, mostly in MEM, they seem to specialize in prison transfers. Every time I have seen them they are loaded with air marshalls, haven't ever had a chance to talk to any of their pilots though. Not sure how much fun that would be?

Saw one in ANC full of prisoners a few weeks ago. When it came up it was because the "white" MD-80 that hauls the prisoners around blew an engine on t/o - so they had planet come up only to get a cracked windshield after takeoff and ground that 727 for a couple of days.

I may be wrong but I thought "nothing" grounded Planet flights?!?!:D

350 is correct regarding the music producer having ownership in Planet. It is Lou Pearlman (sp?) who produced the BackStreet Boys among others. Living in Orlando, it seems his name comes up too often as a guy who "takes advantage" of people. He seems to get a lot of bad press whether or not it is deserved I don't know. The airline has a small fleet of 727s. If my memory is correct, they wanted to be known as the airline/charter for the stars. Were there any stars in the plane load of prisoners they were going to haul??!!

Yes, Martha Stewart.

I dont think Planet crews were flying the US Marshalls trips. The Marshalls out of OKC are leasing at least one Planet and one Transmeridan airplane. And when they breakdown (which seems to be a lot) they call my company.

T-Gates,
That is the most awesome AVATAR I have ever seen! The good ole Irish Concorde, gotta love her.

Don't know if it was Planet, the plane was painted in there scheme though.

The Back Door boys? Are they as good as those Hanson chicks? They are HOT!

Droning along, somewhere between Mo-Line and Wi-cheetah, I've often wondered about those "Justice" flights, and what kind of passenger announcements they make.

Ding!! . . . . . ."Evening, folks, Captain Speaking Speaking. I have turned off the "Remain Shackled" sign, so please feel free to get up and stretch those non-law-abiding legs . . . . . . . however, while in your seats, please remember that, while you may see your law enforcement escorts moving about the cabin, you can forget all about doing the same.

Thanks for your patronage. See you on another _______ flight, in 10 to 20.
