Anyone know any details about a twin that crashed today in Austin TX?

God bless everyone who's involved, what a shame.

6 people? How much cargo/bags?

lakeway is 3900 feet long

temp at KAUS at 11 AM was 86 F and at 12 noon it was 88 F

just putting it out there, who knows what happened

Reports indicate that it was a Piper Aerostar with 6 people on board (4 adults, 2 children), all fataly injured. It crashed into a house which was occupied by 3 people, a couple and their dishwaser repairman. All three of them escaped without injury.

Our Flight school was bombarded by local TV stations with questions about the aerostar all afternoon. Politely declined of course.....

Eyewitnesses say the airplane took off then turned and crashed into a house near the airport about 10-15 seconds later.

Short Runway, hot weather, field elevation > 1000 MSL, and 6 people in the airplane. Could've just been overloaded or possibly an engine problem.

R.I.P. to the victims.
