I am currently working for one of the newer majors and have been placed on reserve because the crew desk broke up my multi-day trip later in the month.

My question is, do any other majors have this policy? Or, do you get sent home with pay when the company decides to break up an already awarded trip?

IMO, this is a horse-$#!t practice that demoralizes the pilot group.

Any input would be appreciated.

alla you lines are belong to us!

Hey man, we don't have rules. We have "Guidelines".:angryfire

At AA, if you trip breaks up, you can just go home without pay. We do not have any trip guarantee or pay protection unless it is in the last 5 days of the month. Then you have to be available (make-up) to fly anything they have for you.

Ex: Lose a 4 day on day one...get a turn on make-up and get paid the 2 days you lost. You don't have to take anything but you lose pay protection. If they don't have anything for you, you get protected for beiing available in the footprint of your original trip.

This is only for the last 5 days of the month.

We will work hard on getting paid for what you bid...period!
