Has anyone on here ever brokered piston aircraft as a full-time or part-time job? I am contemplating getting into it and am in the process of selling my friend's airplane for him as a way to figure out if it is something I would enjoy doing.

If you have done this before (or are doing it now...or know someone who does it), is there any wisdom that you can impart upon me before I step into this arena? What are some pitfalls? Any good website links to learn more about it? Is the standard commission 4% of the purchase price?

Thanks in advance for anything you can share with me on this subject!

Buy low, sell high.

Thank you for the informative post...that obvious piece of information makes sense if I was thinking about getting into the dealer side of things but brokers typically don't buy and sell airplanes. They just represent buyers and sellers.
