I got hired with 560. I did the CRJ program at UND, and that was a huge turn on for them. So far, it seems like a good company, I definitely have no complaints thus far. I hear a lot of whining pilots, but I figure it's a lot better here than other places.

Quality comes from experience…I disagree…then how come military pilots all over the world get their licenses and fly on deadly missions with lot less hours than required to go to the Majors.

Because the training regime in the military is in no way comparable to the civilian. Dollars to doughnuts, I would call it maybe 10 to 1 (or at the very least 5 to 1), hour for hour with the skills and experience gained. The same thing applies to a lesser extent to the European ab initio programs. There can be little comparison to the All ATPs and other rating mills that are so popular in the US. Here, it is very much up to the individual pilot to "know their limitations".

It works at the regionals because they can get hired, make it through the syllabus and the captains can carry these guys/girls for a couple of months or years until they gain some experience. Not a great deal for the captains, but hopefully most of the newbies appreciate their situation, give 101% every leg and LEARN. Nothing wrong with being new, everyone was once. But a fresh certificate and a big attitude are inexcusable, and more importantly unsafe.

My apologies to those looking for PCL info, but there must be some reason this stuff keeps coming up.

Let me guess, you have never been anywhere else to realize how wrong that statement is compared to 99% of the companies around. Go work for Expressjet for 6 months and see if you can say Pinnacle is still best.

I never said it was the best. But I'm happy where I am right now. I'm young, I don't have to flight instruct anymore, and I will be flying a CRJ. Find another regional that would give me that opportunity. I guess I could have gone to Great Lakes and worked for 15 bucks an hour flying an airplane with no autopilot and no pisser

That's cool if you are happy then keep having fun... And yea I would put Great Lakes in the 1% of worse than Pinnacle.

Man why are you such a Pinnacle hater.. besides the second year FO pay... things are much better for lineholder. Sched. doesnt screw with me. Ive been there for 1.5 years and have been able to hold more than 14 days of a month as a a commuter almost every trip is commutable. If it is not I trip trade with open time. ALL this how much better Ive would be having it If I where somewhere else is not true.. If I would have gone to XJ I would have been on the street. XJT... upgrade time would be really long.. same thing goes for eagle...The only companies that would be better for what I am looking for and that is upgrade to move are AWAC or RAH.. but at the time AWAC was not hiring and Horizon is to far west for me... and Mesa..well I think Pinnacle is better than Mesa.. As for you just keep holding out for XJ or maybe Spirit will call. I just hope Michigan unemployment is working for you.

I don't know where you've been working but it sure isn't 9E! May is the FIRST month with decent schedules in a LONG while and most of the trips ARE NOT commutable.

That was a classy comment to say to someone at a "sister" regional about the unemployment line. (A line that you may end up in by year's end incidentally!)

Dont know where you live to say trips are not commutable... as for days off if you dont believe me... PM and I will show all my lines for this year..and the only reason I said those comments is because he has said in previous post that he would rather leave aviation before comming here... I wish him/her all the best but dont knock on a company that he is not or was not a part of.

Ok I couldn't help but reply to this one!! I don't know what planet you are on, but it definately isn't the Pinnacle one! Unless you consider trips that end at 2030 and begin at 9:30 commutable.....then good luck! I've been here 4 years and I still can't find a line that is even remotely acceptable to commute on. And as far as scheduling goes, you must be one of those guys that sends presents to the schedulers in return for favors because your take on things is for sure not the norm here even on a good day. I got a good chuckle out of that post though!

Actually yeah trips that end at 2030 are commutable. I dont give presents to schedulers I just see what I can get from open time...IF the reserve looks good I just try to drop the first out and back and my trip becomes commutable... It works out great if I have an out and back with a 3 hour sit after that. After 4 years here your probably a Captain.. and if not then your bidding in the top 20 of FO so dont know why u are complaining. As a Captain it is more difficult due to the current staffing.

If you dont belive me thats fine I really dont care. I know what I get isnt perfect but its the best I can do with my seniority and I think its pretty good considering Ive been here for 1.5 years. Commuting is what you make of it.. there are good and bad months... for those interested in comming here you cant really grasp what ur life will be like from reading posts from co-workers that go against what they all say. It is just not as bad as people make you believe and for that reason not as good as others say.

Like many people have said, Pinnacle is just fine IF YOU DON'T COMMUTE. I've been at PCL for 1 1/2 years, I'm perfectly happy since I don't commute. I have 17 days off in May with all my weekends off, I've been junior manned only once, and extended only once since I've been here. The pilots and airplane are great...and our FO pay WILL go up soon, (at least 20%) once the new contract is signed.

Well, I think I might be taking the PCL plunge here soon. I got the job offer last week and picked the latest class date (June 19) to allow me to ponder a bit more. The only other places I have the time for are Eagle and XJT, but niether offer me the path that I want. Long story short - if I went to PCL, I'd have a short commute, 1 hr flight, so hopefully that won't be too bad.... let's just hope upgrades keep moving along the next few years!

Dear high school girls:

If you don't like it at Pinnacle... Just leave !!! and don't let the door hit you on your way out.

If you don't wanna go to PCL, then just DON'T go !

life is great, time for a beer.
