I am trying to get in the industry and wondering if people are applying at pinnacle or will it be bashed upon in the next months/years like mesa is now

Pinnacle is not going anywhere, and neither is Mesa, although they may shrink a bit - which is probably good in the long run, since they are understaffed.

Pinnacle has two code shares, run a cheap operation cost-wise, and has a contract with Delta for years. Why, how, would NWA replace all the flying they do for that cost?

Mesa still has Usair, United, Delta codeshares. They may be downsized, may even lose all mainline 50 seaters and only fly 700/900's for Usair, Delta and United, and keep their Go deal going.

I applied at Pinnacle because I thought they were hiring street captains.

Unfortunately, they're saying it's for FO position with a promise of a quick upgrade.. heh, been around this game long enough to know better. Besides, my unemployment pays more than 1st year Pinnacle FO.

I agree, coming from Aloha, Pinnacle might be a too big of a pill to swallow. That being said, since you probably have very few options, given the state of things, I would still consider it.

No 'pure' street Captains. They are holding to 100hrs in the right seat before being able to bid for CA slot. Not sure if that helps, but that's what they are sticking too.
