The Planes in long term storage have been returned to the leasor never to return again (per doug shockey). Uncle Phil is telling recurrent classes in memphis that if NWA wants us to fly the CRJ 700 then we will refuse, but if it is the 170 then we will finance the planes ourselves. I dont believe this guy on either account. Pinnacle is a whore company that will do what NWA wants when NWA wants with or without Lube, and apparently according to our web cast the other day we are not even competetive for the bid to keep the flying we currently have soooooo with that being said, I am willing to wager that these ghost 700's or 170's do not even exist, if anything I would bet they will be operated by Sjet.

There is one problem with Doug Shockey's comment... We use 129 for the IPO, sooooo... 5 a/c of "some" type have to reappear or the SEC get's involved (unless we file BK).

Second... we have had the financing for more A/C for some time now.. the contract is what is holding up that play. No investor (bank or otherwise) is willing to finance to 9E without a pilot contract. Unlce Phil has been shopping for some time now, hence the decorative improvements the company has made over then last 6-8 months. New SOC, PBS, ACP's, phone systems, manuals and other odds and ends.

Just wondering if you used a cut 'n paste from a company memo for this section of your post. Please don't tell me you actually believe the part I put in bold typeface.

The "improvements" you mention I think HAD to happen. Just like they did at Mesaba. Bedford left our scheduling and SOC in a 30 aircraft configuration when we were growing with 100+ aircraft. Doesn't work out so well. "Uncle Phil" is not trying to improve 9E to lure new business, he's trying to make up for what should have been 3 years ago.

I don't think you guys at Pinnacle need to worry. Your road ahead is not foggy. Just look at Mesaba. Where we end up is where you'll be expected to follow.

I did nto cut and paste, although it would have save me some time:)

Uncle Phil has been pounding the pavement on wall street for some time. Specifically to drum up financial support, many bankers saw what Comair did and do not want to fund an airline without a pilot contract. Now that is a bad example, but nevertheless an example of why a bank will not fund us without some cost parameters.

I agree that some of the fixes lately were generated due to necessity. Regardless, Uncle Phil and friends have been doing quite a bit of "open house" in the past few months. It is not like we are up for airline of the year, so why else would be doing show and tell to a bunch of suits?

I had a friend tell me that he saw 20-30 CRJs paint in NWA colors in Tucson....hes not one to lie to me. Has anyone else seen them? My answer to him was maybe there were XJs that they never ended up getting.

Only if Pinnacle's new paint scheme looks exactly like Independance Air's.

Pinnacle serves our airport AVL. How fuc.ed would I be on a scale from 1 to 10 if I got hired by them and commuted. Co-worker at the AVL flight school just got on with Peidmont. He recieved an email from Pinnacle and Peidmont about the same time. He says he's proud to go with Peidmont (Dash 8) and not Pinnacle.

Whoops! Had to edit. Damn brandy!

Those CRJs out in Tucson will be returning to the Northwest system. One of the covenants in the NWA pilot contract requires that the NW designator be removed from any aircraft that is permanently taken out of service for NW. All of the aircraft that have been taken out of service still retain all NW logos and markings. They even still say "operated by Pinnacle Airlines" on the side.

Broaden your veiw of history out beyond the past 5 years. XJ grew leaps and bounds during the late '90's at the expense of 9E. Now the past five years has seen 9E grow at the expense of XJ. Its all a big circle. Build one group up and tear another down.
