Training

First off let me say that I did not got through the Gulfstream program and I didnt PFT. Now as for training at Pinnacle from someone who recently completed it.

Fight the urge to go home on your days off. Use the time to catch up on reading, study your flows, callouts and profiels (FCOM2), and relax a bit. They will tell you on day one that if you try and go home and miss a class your done! They aren't kidding about this.

My class was lucky because we had a break for the holidays and it allowed us extra time to study for the sim. I honestly think that if your a low time pilot you could really get ahead by having the flows, callouts, and profiles down cold prior to CPT 1. My sim partner and I did and it made things SO MUCH EASIER.

Just my two cents... Good luck in training!

Some questions about Pinnacle's training. What is the hourly pay, and number of hours you could expect to fly a month? Where is the training? MEM? What is the schedule like? Junior base in MSP? From a prev. post I am guessing not paid during training...? Thanks in advance!

No pay during training. Training is in MEM. Current first year FO rate is $20.13, $20.73 in May. Line average is 86-87 hours 9 (not sure if that is flight time or pay though). New hires are going to both MSP and DTW, MEM can be had in about 3-4 months. Suppose to be growth in MEM so it might be available to new hires.

Thanks JJJ. Now, just suppose that I were to get hired...Do they provide any $ for living expenses, or at least help you find a place to stay during training? I am guessing there are crash pads close to the airport that would be considered safe and comfortable?

While I am at it, what is the interview process like?

Cheers,

No allowances whatsoever during training, you're on your own until you pass sim check. They "recommend" you to stay at the Homestead near the CEC, but word of warning, it's not that good. There're plenty of crashpad in Germantown or in Southaven MS, since we're training so much these days, there's always someone leaving. If you get one of our more colorful ground instructor, you won't fall asleep in class:)

Interview gouge can be found @ www.aviationinterviews.com. They are pretty right on. Study the Inst, Comm, probably a bit ATP, and bring your humor with you, and you're all set. Good luck!

well, since you got adivce from capts you know, you are forgiven.  ......the fact that you have spent so much time in the industry almost makes you worse then those that are truly neive and dont know anything but glossy flying magazine ads, but with you in the biz so long....well you know the rest...

my friends arent getting hired b/c of their wallets, not their attitudes.

WAAAAHHHH, WAAAAHHH, WAAAAAA

Maybe there's another reason why you're not getting hired?? HMMM :)
