Anyone out there in the March 15th class? I got the call last night. Just curious if anyone else out there was in the same boat as me. No longer swimming!!!!!!

wtf.....

How does one go about getting b52 experience within the first 700 hours TT? Maybe it's because I know s*** about the military and it is possible, but I'm just curious. Either way, congrats on the class date!

he was a b52 gunner, not a pilot, i guess this from his screenname. he then paid the big bucks to go to gia to be a passenger in row 0B and now b/c of some partnership with pinacle, he has a class date at a woppin 700 hours of "quality" time...yeah congrats:rolleyes:

you are a real class act noname.......

No doubt you are a real pleasure to fly with.

Yees I was a gunner not an Officer pilot. I was a private pilot though. You spend a lot of time in B-52's. I have over 1000 hours in the BUFF. Normal missions were 10+ hours. I got plenty of stick time when pilots "cleared off for relief". I had an IP for an aircraft commander so I got to fly quite a bit. Also got several hours in the WST full motion sim. If you know the right people you can get time in the sims.

No more Gunners on Buffs. They got after the first gulf war. I used to sit behind the pilot facing backwards.

B52, how long after you interviewed were you called for the class date? What's the "normal" wait time from what you've heard?

There was a vacancy posted today for 24 capts and 62 FO's effictive July 1. Those classes would probably start the end of May or beginning of June.

2 1/2 weeks after interview I got the call saying I was in the pool.

It took 3 months to actually get the class date.

3 months?!!! man, thats almost as long as it took to get all your ratings...0 to hero in $20000 and 10 months! woo

I should not respond but...

I have had my ratings over 15 years, and have worked in the Airline Industry for over 13 years. I have loaded bags, sold tickets, turned wrenches, and sold parts. I spent time as a crewmember in the military. Yes I did go to Gulfstream, but it was on the advice of quite a few airline captains I know.

It is not your resume that is making you not get hired. It is your attitude.

well, since you got adivce from capts you know, you are forgiven.  ......the fact that you have spent so much time in the industry almost makes you worse then those that are truly neive and dont know anything but glossy flying magazine ads, but with you in the biz so long....well you know the rest...

my friends arent getting hired b/c of their wallets, not their attitudes.

"Buff Gunner",

Man that NoName guy must have some fatal attraction to you. He even talks bad about you on other threads. I pity him.

Hey seriously though, I told Stephanie that I needed to be in the April class since 15 March is too quick for me. I'll see you there.

I did forget to ask her though, do you or any other Pinnacle guys know when the flight benefits start? It's a long drive home on weekends (I'm assuming those are days off?).

Thanks,
Catfish

Jumpseat

I'm sorry to say that until you pass your checkride and receive your ID badge, you can not jumpseat. I believe that after our next contract 5/05, new hires will be paid, furnished a hotel and receive an ID when you start class.

Ouch!!!

Speedmode,
Thanks for the info. That's a tougher one to swallow than no pay during training to me. I live in central Florida, so driving home on days off would be impossible. Ugh......

The way they have been running lately... you could probably count on one maybe two weekend (days) being busy. The hint will be whether they start you on any other day then monday....

When I went through (2 1/2 years ago), a friend of the pilots in HR would work out a pass for a weekend trip home. Then again, training back then was a good 12 weeks or better. They have it down to just about 8 weeks and the senior classmates can be less.

Supposedly classes are about 20 every 3 weeks, vacancies are showing about 50-60 every month and that has been since the Feb Vacancy and we just announced July's a few days ago.

Do the math and those who may want to "wait" for a class or two will be taking a significant hit on seniority...

Hey Gunner,

Don't sweat the hype man. We've been hiring the GIA guys for a while now and once they reach the line they've been known to be a pretty good group. Just do me this one favor. Once you reach the line...CHANGE YOUR GIA CREW TAGS TO NWA AIRLINK CREW. Sure it's not much better but now you're an airlinker. Other than that if you have any more questions shoot me a pm. I'll try to answer as many questions as I can. Study hard and good luck.

That's my 10 cents my 2 cents is free
Nuisance who sent?
YOU SENT FOR ME!!??
