Any idea on what Delta wants to do with the 120 or so 9e CR2s once the merger is all sorted out?

Delta is bound by the successorship clause of our contract with NW and that mandates that we retain a minimum fleet of 124 aircraft under this service agreement. There is a clause that the current CRJ-200 aircraft can be exchanged one for one for larger airplanes.
 
I'm willing to bet Pinnacle now gets paid a lot less with their contract "extension". Kind of like what XJT did with DAL in LAX.
According to the article, the original agreement was kept intact with the exception of moving back the delivery schedule.
