Hey just wondering if any Pinnacle guys or gals are attending the "big" dinner tonight in DTW? If so please let us know what the "big" news is. From what I hear most guys are assuming they are going to make some sort of announcement. Hopefully it's good for you. Thanks in advance.

HECK NO! I'm not wasting a good day off to commute up from ole Rocky Top Tennessee when its 68 degrees out! LOL!

Certainly not for another installment in the "Phil's Schmack Pack Series". I would doubt that many from our ranks, even the ones who live in base would attend, knowing that our management are a bunch of ruthless liars who care nothing about the pilot group.

Only one thing will get their attention.....STFD. :-)

Had to respond to that comment....

No free dinner is worth listening to the sewage, lies, and misdirection of 9e's mgt. Hang in there guys!

-Former 9e driver.

But they're supposed to announce that we are going to be flying for fedex!

Word around the 'pad is that there will be "security" on hand to ensure that no press is present...and that the speech will be delivered from sealed envelopes that the readers will not have seen before opening...all being done after the market closes....

man, if I could have worked in "black helicopters" and "9/11" we would have a real story...

:)

PNCL up near 3.5% today in the last few minutes of trading.

Something is going on.

Here is my source:

From the YAHOO Financial Message Board-

flyguymem-
"I'm in training at Pinnacle right now and we were invited yesterday to the MEM dinner at the hangar. Spouses or significant others are invited but they would rather you leave the kids at home. One of the VP's came to our class to invite us and said there would be 52 of these dinners going on tommorrow and he was saying how hard it was to get that many dinners planned at different stations. I know Corky's is catering the one here in Memphis. I'm expecting something really good to come out of it, especially given the fact that they are hiring like crazy, both FA and Pilots. There were probably a good 40 people there today interviewing for Pilot positions. When he spoke to our class he spoke of diversifying their income instead of limiting themself to one carrier such as Northwest. So I'm hoping they have won another bid with someone else and will still be the main regional for Northwest or that they are going to the 70 seat CRJ or Embraer, which he also spoke of. He stated they have been in the process of looking at both planes for the past year or so."

stock thinly traded while its going up; usually a sign of individual investors buying on rumor selling the fact.

does anyone know when the dinner is beginning/over so we put this rumor to bed?

Dinner is probably for the fact they won their own flying back. Here at NWA the 70 seat issue is tight lipped not even NWA management knows for sure.

YPF -

Doesn't make sense to announce good news after the market closing. I bet they got most, but not all of it back. Where the rest of the flying goes remains to be seen....

Apparently nothing was said worth anything during the presentation. Figures, haha.

Is there anyone who was at the dinner or knows a reliable source who was... what was it for? Were there any big announcements??

It works if all you do is read it, I haven't been able to post for a couple of hours because the spell check function has an error code and I haven't been able to work around it. Any suggestions?

Try going to Profile at the top of the screen when you log in and scrolling down to the Preferences section. You can turn off the auto-spellcheck there until it starts working again. Let me know if that doesn't work. What sort of error are you getting?

So what is all this info... looks like stock info. Is that something they presented at this dinner or are the two not related?? What was the main focus of this dinner? A previous poster said they were using pre-printed note cards etc.... just wondering what the deal was anyone know???

Sorry, guys.

I was really hoping you were going to get word of new 70 seat flying or at least keeping your own CRJ flying for NWA.

It would have been nice for a red tail pilot group to get some good news for a change.

*sigh*

Why would they want 70 seat flying? How would that be good news?

A little harsh however, A cute story of a NWA mainline pilot taking two Airlink pilots on the jumpseat, NWA pilot asks one Airlinker if he'd fly the mainline jet for a rate less than advertised... Airlinker says yes and gets kicked off the jumpseat....
