Ct. Zip! Step away from the bottle! STEP AWAY FROM THE BOTTLE Ct. ZIP!! NOONE WANTS TO HURT YOU UNLESS YOU WON'T COMPLY!!!!

I would have given the controllers the ole, "altitude, airspeed" number.

- More than 10 times the number of violations of any other airline operating out of the same FSDO, even though size is smaller

There are no other passenger airlines that operate out of the Memphis FSDO.

You can fly 300 kts at 6000 ft, as long as you are more than 12 miles offshore.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I thought all of their ops were out of the Memphis Airport.

- Pilots asked for altitude and airspeed; after answering "6000 feet and 300 knots"; controller asks them to repeat; they say "6000 feet and 300 knots"; controller asks for a third time; they say "6000 feet and 300 knots"; controller says "umm... can you slow to 250?"; pilots having no clue respond "we can give you whatever speed you want

That's what they get for getting recruits from Gulfstream. If they would hire exclusively DCA grads, they would know that they teach us the speed limit below 10000ft is 250kts. We practice that alot in the CRJ FTD.

All Pinnacle pilots are not bad. However, as an operation, that place is inept and scary.

- Flight 3701 going to FL410 and stalling killing 2; plane destroyed

- Flight in MKE continues with hydraulic problem and goes off runway; plane totalled

- Flight in Montana turns the wrong way on missed approach and misses mountain top by few hundred feet

- Pilots ask for Type-4 anti-icing fluid on a clear day because "we will be flying in the clouds later on"

- More than 10 times the number of violations of any other airline operating out of the same FSDO, even though size is smaller

- Snowstorm shuts down entire airline; SOC can cope and NWA steps in

- And the list could go on and on. . .

I have friends who fly for Pinnacle. For the love of god, and the safety of my friends, the other crews, and the traveling public, SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!

This is not flame-bait, people. This is reality.

Yeah, Pinnacle should be shut down. They're the only ones that have had incidents/accidents or anything else listed above. Apparently, all other regional airlines are perfect.

Good thing we have you here, wouldn't know what to do without you!

FedEx isn't a passenger airline.

I might be corrected, but I would swear the posting I was referring to didn't originally specify pax airlines... I believe he edited in that part. Maybe not, who cares.?.? Speaking of FedEx, they have had a pretty bad run lately as well.

PCL is no different from any other regional these days. I think people need to stop picking on them.

Actually, zippo, there were two accidents in MKE, one day apart. The first they slid off the taxiway into a snowdrift and then powered-out to continue to the gate. The second was 24 hours later where the slip-and-slide occured on landing. I don't believe either plane was "totalled".

I'm assuming you read that other thread. There was only one accident in MKE. It was the same accident written up twice.

Myself and my family used to fly NWA quite a bit, but after that FL410 Stall abortion you wont catch us on any leg that has "Operated by Pinnacle Airlines" on it.

I'll refrain from saying what I want to say in response to this stupid, ignorant post. I guess you don't fly on any airline then, do you?

Uh...yeah right.

You all act like 9E pilots are the only ones to ever make some stupid request like that. I guess they're the only ones. Everyone else must be perfect.

Let's hear some stories of perfection from other regionals. Let the rest of us know how smooth your operation is and how perfect the rest of you are.

At the risk of starting World War III, I can verify that this actually did happen. It was in MSP about two years ago. It was lower overcast but was not snowing. People were getting type one to remove residual ice. One Pinnacle captain asked for type 4. Deice truck asked if he was sure and he said yes. A Mesaba captain on the frequency asked why, and the Pinnacle guy said something like "there's moderate ice in the clouds." He and the XJ captain proceeded to get into an argument on the frequency after that.

Doesn't mean all 9E guys are unsafe or stupid by any means. But I can confirm that this story is true.

In the end, can't we all just get along?

Can anyone from Pinnacle confirm or deny the Helena missed approach story? I'm don't want to fan the flames at all. I hope it's not true so we can put that rumor to rest.

Thanks.

That's great

We can all get along and I don't doubt that this happened at all. I would bet money that this was someone (high mins capt) who isn't used to winter weather especially MSP or DTW weather.
