I had a 9E JS'er out of PNS years back when I was an FO. My CA had to clue him on the "No Jeans" part of business casual attire code. Good stuff.

Down to 3 candidates, one who is a solid mgmt pilot who will probably get it, even though the other 2 candidates are probably better qualified.

Actually, none of them are very qualified. The company isn't willing to pay enough to attract any real talent for the position. None of the guys that would be any good at the position would sink themselves into that bureaucracy anyway, at any price.

Been hearing some VERY interesting info... if it comes to fruition, life will get better for the PCL pilots.

The pay is certainly true enough. Why would any of the checks or APD's apply for it when they make just as much or MORE staying put, not to mention more days off.

Would still like to know how yesterday's meeting in Eagan went. Staffing is certainly one of the things a Chief Pilot is SUPPOSED to do, if they weren't micromanaged by Corporate.

The meeting was actually in MEM...and I heard it was interesting to say the least...

Well, one of the canadates would be down right scary to have as the CP.

I did a little diggin around - the job was offered to an APD who turned it down due to money. The only others who applied were two line pilots. One was seriously interviewed. Turns out he is also a member of the MEC.

Word around the campfire is that both of the line pilots were rejected and the job is being re-posted.

Speculation is that they will have to go outside to fill it.
