Heard from a 9E pilot that Pinnacle has canceled upgrade classes for October 3rd and October 24th, and the new hire class dates of October 2nd and October 16th will also not be held. (Cancellation of Vacancy 06-08)
Any truth to this?
Sounds like PeaKnuckle mgmt. trying to force a sh*tty contract onto the pilots or else "we'll cancel these classes".

What about the gents in the above advertisement from ATP? Did they sneak in with their RJ type ratings?

NOPE! and all they have is FMS training that they spent 70,000 for!

Class is cancelled. So if you were in that class...you better go kiss your chief flight instructors a$$ to keep flying with those students that you probably transferred to the low time instructor. He will love you for that one!

It's just so much more negotiations posturing.....and the 9e management has proven to be pretty much amatuers at the process.....

Let the games begin.......

I'd like to know how those two non-conformists got hired without a red tie? The madness of it all.

LMAO Thanks Sparticus, I needed a laugh today.

It is true, these have been cancelled. They didn't tell you that when they gave you your gauranteed interview did they?

Was that directed towards me? If so, Detroit, I fly for a regional with a decent contract, albeit still a regional...Just something I heard from a jumpseater you moron.

no that was not directed towards you, it was directed to the kid on the far right of the atp picture with all the 8 applicants that got hired.

Regional --- Decent Contract ?

That goes along with Military Intelligence as a paradox

Gawd am I slow ...I just saw what you guys are talking about....My God Talk about pictures your gonna regret later in life!

You guys must be cancelling classes because ASA is bidding on your flying. We provide such a quality product, and our pilots will be rolling over on their contract demands very soon. Soon, we will rule the world!

(to any that were in the class) Count the cancellation as a blessing. Then run far far away from anything to do with a red tail with the letter N on it.

Negotiating tactic that won't hold for very long.

Those classes will be back on before the year is out.

The pool is emptying at FedEx and taking about 40 PCL Captains as it empties... They'll have to replace that attrition somehow, not to mention the folks getting hired at SWA, JB, airTran, CAL, or just plain getting pissed off and leaving.

Patience, all is not lost. You, too, can go to work for less than $20k a year if you are just patient enough. ;)

Yikes!

Double Yikes!!!!

$80,000 for the chance to earn $20,000 (and then maybe a furlough or two)!

And this isn't a dig at 9E....Crap can rain on any regional, as we all know.

Aint that the truth! I was just looking at the XJ seniority list on the ALPA site, and it looks like after another 50 furloughes or so the most junior guys will have been there since 2001!

There's something terribly wrong with that picture.

No beef there Selcal. It looks more like an eagle or checkmark than the letter N.

Northern, the worst part is it's almost 8 years to hold a captain position at a "49 Saab" airline... isn't Colgan Saab captain going about 18-24 months, and that's after already being Beech captain at about 12.

City Airlines -- South Park

Anyone remember the "City Wok" episode of "South Park?" Well anyway, the airline they take is "City Airlines", but the "C" is pronounced more with a "sh" sound. The line that I can never get out of my head is when he says something like "Thank you for flying City Airlines. We know you have a choice in airlines and it looks like you picked the wrong one!"

But you see... it's priceless when he goes bragging to chicks in bars about how he flies for Northwest. :)

Bet that would look real good in an marketing ad for NW......

our fleet of pilots are the newest in the industry....
never landed in the rain or flown in snow or ice......
so new they haven't even been flown at night......
brand new and without a blemish.......
bright shiny new pilots at a fraction of the price of an older used model.....

That would really make me want to rush out and buy a ticket.....
