But you see... it's priceless when he goes bragging to chicks in bars about how he flies for Northwest. :)

Chicks in bars? My friend, he can't afford to have a couple of buds and a sandwich at a bar that will rum him $25.00. Maybe he can brag to the lady filling his applications for food stamps

are you kidding that just lucked out...now he can go to unemployment and get money for his 737 type.

Bet that would look real good in an marketing ad for NW......

our fleet of pilots are the newest in the industry....
never landed in the rain or flown in snow or ice......
so new they haven't even been flown at night......
brand new and without a blemish.......
bright shiny new pilots at a fraction of the price of an older used model.....

That would really make me want to rush out and buy a ticket.....

The only thing I can say here is that IAW our FOM...it is at the Captains discretion as to wether or not the FO will have the controls for the flight or any phase of the flight! If these ATP grads display any lack of standardization in their performance of the FO's duties...then they will only sit there and work the radios...maybe...plus it will be documented and they will most likely be invited to leave the company. It has happened already!
You might as well say that they will be career FO's due to the upgrade time...and the seniority! If they only have 300-500 hours. It will be YEARS! and I do not mean 2 or 3.

Any word on when classes will resume?

According to two PNCL pilots on a jetcareers.com thread, there is a new-hire class on October 30.

Anyone able to confirm?

just had a buddy call me and say he's in the class on the 30th...hope it works

hmmm

i have been told the class on oct 30 is being filled. When did ur buddy interview. I am still waiting for a call....or a letter

Keep on waiting and then wait for your food stamps to arrive in the mail soon afterwards. Why would anyone want to wait for a class date when other better regionals, mainly horizon, are hiring?

I think because 3rd year captain pay at Pinnacle is better than 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th year FO pay at Horizon.

Or maybe it is because some pilots actually live in or near MSP, MEM or DTW.

Any other Questions?

why wouldn't you want to sit on airport reserve for 18 months? Or fly from Seattle to Victoria 8 times in a day? Or fly the Dash 8?

My buddy heard about a week ago, I believe. He interviewed early this month.

Well in defense of the ATP guys. Believe it or not, but Penn. Hired them just at or above the mins. for the regular public. If you go to the ATP web site and look at all the applicants who made the hire, you will see 90% of them were instructors for ATP and had been there at least a year. The guy who just started his private in Feb. must have had a lot of time before he started the program w/ ATP. I finished the ATP Career pilot program and I myself started the program around hours(already had my private before joining). So it depends on the applicant.

But honesty all that ******************** ATP advertises about lowered mins. is kind of wishy-washy. If you read the LOAs w/ ATP they all say. "blah blah airlines at its discretion can reduce mins to 500T 100M or 400TT and 200M." So you see...They don't have to hire with the low times... its basically an advertisement ploy to get people to do the program at ATP. Now don't get me wrong...ATP is a good flight school and it ain't easy at all to get 8 ratings in a matter of 90days... And they have no problem washing out a student if he/she cant hang...i've seen it happen numerous times.

Why Pinnacle

Let me count the ways...No regional is perfect and I have not worked at one so here is my personal opinion. I fly in alaska in the bush getting almost double what i would get here, but I don't like it. I live 4000 miles from home flying old beat up planes that are overflown. We fly a lot i fly 140/ month avg has been 160. I fly into crappy little places with crappy stuff on board. Everything we do is a pain, we always are at min fuel with very very few alternates available and I am tired of breathing o2 and wondering if the icing will get too bad that i won't make it through the area of 13000ft mea. Pinnacle is for me based in detroit, i live a 2 hour drive or 20 min flight away, they are nice jets, there are lots of new places to fly. The lower 48 is underated. they have a union and are trying for a better contract...i can't imagine it getting worse, but hey life goes on. I am looking at a place where people enjoy their job and the several i talked to love it. Not everyone does I understand that, but i know someone who barely works and makes 75,000 per year and complains its not enough. Life is good, have fun with this career if you can, I hope to get a call from them and they let me work for foodstamps, its what I do. Plus all the girls want to know if I fly a jet and if you try to make a turboprop into a jet engine...they aren't impressed

Oh sh*t....

INCOMING!!!

ROFLMAO! :D

I used to get mad at people like this, but now it's just so sad I simply have to laugh and move on.

You sure they weren't looking for a reason not to be impressed.....tell us the truth.
