Pasted from an e-mail, not my material.... this brings the total DCI carriers to ten different certificated carriers or six corporate entities:
  1. ASA
  2. Big Sky
  3. Chautauqua
  4. Comair
  5. ExpressJet
  6. Freedom
  7. Pinnacle
  8. Republic
  9. SkyWest
  10. Shuttle America
From a labor standpoint, four are ALPA carriers, three are Teamsters, and two are non-union.

As for the non-union, SkyWest and who else?

I think he was referring to Big Sky, but they're actually UTU members now.

UTU? I thought they were IBT? Either way you're right they're represented.

You're probably thinking about Great Mistakes. Big Sky briefly had an independent union (BSPA) after they turned down ALPA's offer of representation during the Mesaba negotiations, but they merged into the UTU shortly thereafter.

Another bottom feeder flying crj's for DL. Pathetic.

I'm sure all those gulfstream grads are beside themselves to fly the "heavy Iron" for 19-36 bucks an hour.

how was WMU? Enjoy your bottom feeder college?

Most likely every single regional in existence, except maybe Horizon, will need to engage in some very very very low minimums hiring in the next few years. It's time for everyone to dust off those CFI certificates, now.

when did express jet get flying for delta? what are they going to fly?

It was anounced a couple months back. Contract for about 10 of their Embraers I believe flying out of LAX.

We at WMU sure enjoyed your sister. I did a lot of bottom feeding on her

Does that make you bisexual? You do know, his sister used to be a man, right?

While I agree that ALPA bears a good bit of the blame for the current situation we all find ourselves in, let's not underestimate ASA management's role in all this. LaBreque and his crew have so criminally mismanaged this airline that nobody wants to do business with us. Aside from all the flying we have lost out on with Delta, we also lost out on the CAL RFP and the Frontier bid. I don't believe you can lay failure after failure at the feet of ALPA when it is clear that ASA's reputation in the industry is that of a regional partner that provides substandard service.

FmrFreightDog,

ASA management has nothing to do with this... that's the problem. Delta and Skywest management call all the shots.... ASA management is just a "puppet" management. This is a battle between Skywest management and ALPA with Delta management backing Skywest management. We ALPA people are using "checkers" strategy in what is really a "chess" game...

I can lay failure at ALPA because ALPA refuses to deal with the scope issue on a meaningful basis, and until they do, management will continue to roll over us.....

Delta management is diversifying the portfolio and Skywest management is keeping ALPA off the property at Skywest.... they are doing THEIR job, but is ALPA doing IT'S job ?????

but is ALPA doing IT'S job....

You say this a lot but never seem to have an answer. How about you dedicate some of your flightinfo time to finding an answer thats based on something more than your paranoia.

You know Joe, only you would make this dumb statement. Yeah...ALPA is too blame for everything! Like freight said...our mgmnt shares the majority if not ALL of the blame. They are nothing but a bunch of incompetent idiots running this place. No wonder Delta is looking elsewhere! You are such an IDIOT!

ALPA is to blame because it isn't doing it's job. Skywest management is doing it's job and that is to break ALPA..... Take your ALPA blinders off and ask yourself who is winning? Skywest management is beating ALPA.... quite handily I might add..... and most of you either don't know it, or won't admit it......

Oh, ye of little faith! Standby for fellow RJDC-loser N2264J to stop by and say something even more asinine! Or maybe Joey's older girlfriend, InclusiveScope, will stop by and make a "brilliant" comment or two. ;)

So far we have been right...... ALPA's leverage continues to be watered down by management's increased us of the portfolio..... What are the "brilliant" solutions from ALPA..... Brand Scope????? How is working so far......

WOW.... this brand scope is really working now isn't it........

Would someone remind ALPA about the "COLLECTIVE" in "Collective Bargaining"......

It's not "paranoia" DoinTime, it is reality. I don't think ALPA works at "screwing" us, I just think they are a huge ineffective organization that can't get it together on this scope issue.... I have given my solutions, but Rez. will come over and shoot them down...

1. True "brand scope" or "inclusive scope" that includes all members of the brand and doesn't exclude any of us union members.......... stop any future outsourcing... all though this is pretty much useless at this point since everyone and their brother flies for Delta now...

2. Barriers to entry..... It only takes 10 months to train a 121 pilot from scratch currently... that is too short. What other profession can be trained in 10 months?

3. Transportability of seniority.... first within a brand, and eventually across company lines.... What other profession has to start all over again everytime they change employers?

4. Minimum contract standards.

Those are a start, and we haven't even attempted one... instead we just talk about how great ALPA is..... while management beats us over the head with the whipsaw...
