This is crap, this guy is a piece of sh!t, how dare he take an innocent little girl(espically his daughter) with him. I hope he rots in hel!, what a piece of sh!t.

For me, I wouldn't mind proposing, as a father, to have a written consent by both parents, in order for a child (under a certain age) to fly with one of the parents. Just like a foreign travel requirement. Yes, lot of people would be up in arms about so called liberties, but I'd rather have million parents and kids go through some 'discomfort' of obtaining that kind of permission than to have another child go through like our innocent little angel this morning.

Oh, give me a f*#king break!

God Bless her soul.

I understand the sentiment, but obtaining that kind of permission (which already exists to take a child overseas) would not have aided this situation. Who would have enforced such a rule?

It is sad and tragic. Children dying will turn anyone's stomach. However, I think we learned after 9/11 that knee jerk legislation is NOT good public policy.

Very sad indeed. The picture of his dorky smiling face disgusts me, hope he rots in hell where he belongs.

unfortunatley were missing the point here guys....he didnt even have a private pilots liscense....apparently he checked out the airplane, and taxied back in between two hangers so his daughter could get in....unfortunatley noone couldve stopped him. As stated before the worst part is the fact that this innocent little girl had her life taken....it makes me sick to my stomach...so in this case..even written approval wouldnt have stopped him. I only hope she didnt know what was going on and wasnt scared when it happened....God Bless

Why stop there? Why not driving too? If he was suicidal, and wanted to kill himself and his daughter, he could have driven his car 100mph into a wall. Same result.

No kidding... since when would a permission slip (or lack of) stop a suicidal maniac?

Why is it that people always want to DO something about situations like this. No amount of nanny state rules and regulations would have prevented it, as unfortunate as it was.

Don't you have a heart? I guess you just don't.

You're so caught up being a regional pilot or regional pilot wanna be that it offends you if someone posts a news that directly affects all us pilots. Just because he flew a smaller airplane than your mighty Transport Category Airplane doesn't mean he wasn't a pilot.

Sounds like you don't have children, but one doesn't have to be a parent to feel what that girl must have gone through in the last few moments of her so short a life.

Perhaps by posting here it would help to address that problem in some ways: may be some day this simple post would help to come up with a process that would ensure safety of children in General Aviation.

I hope, for you, to realize that a human life is an incredible gift. I hope, starting right now, you look for ways to develop sensitivity to what that child might have gone through before her death. I hope you develop sympathy in your heart...and not get too bent out of shape simply because a concerned pilot posted a very important piece of news on this forum that has ruined your day.

Sarcasm aside, you just named every single married guy. :)
I don't care who you are, but every married couple will have problems, or eventually face problems. The key is knowing how to deal with the problems amicably.

How do they know for sure it was a suicide........its all speculation? After reading the article it sounds like to me he was "joyriding" and he may have been flying low approaches over grandmas house and then he got stupid......

There is no hell hot enough for that coward. May he rest in the most tormenting, soul-wrenching guilt.

That poor little girl. It breaks my heart for her to have her life taken from her by such a cowardly piece of 5hit.

btw 1015, was that supposed to be an intentional pun?

Roger that.......hopefully ol' Beelzebub is drop kicking his ass from torment to torment..........for the rest of eternity. I'll never understand the "if I can't have the kids/wife/whatever, no one can" or the "I'm going to punsh my spouse by killing the kids" mentality. WTF did they ever do to deserve this?

Technically, our gang of nincompoops will be the Entertainment Division of Pilot Heaven. Pilot Heaven, as we all know, will feature nothing but attractive F/A's, crew buses that are waiting for us, and tons of extra First Class meals left over on every leg. [Spoiler: ergo, no SWA guys in Pilot Heaven]

The Entertainment Division goobers (Dougie, Neil, Timmy, and their ilk) will be our personal Rock 'Em - Sock 'Em Robots. We get to dispassionately manipulate them, then ceaselessly ask them why their morale sucks.

It'll be great fun!

The best part?

After we're done goofing with them, and we've made lot's of money making their lives miserable, we move on while they have to serve another bunch of noobs in Heaven.
