NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE (3/01/06)
The Negotiating Committee continues to meet around the clock with NWA management. Progress has been made, but some important issues still remain unresolved. Both parties filed their current table positions with the court at 11:00 a.m. EST. We are now waiting to see what action Judge Gropper may decide to take today. The company is reporting that the PFAA reached a tentative agreement at about 11:00 a.m. today. Negotiations will remain very fluid and we will communicate significant news as soon as possible. The next Hotline is scheduled to be posted this evening or earlier if conditions warrant.

That yahoo article is also out of date or poorly researched. They are still talking as of Wed night and the judge told the party's to get back to him Thursday night. Also told NWA not to impose terms without telling him first....

NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE (3/01/06)
At 6:00 p.m. EST, ALPA and Northwest management attorneys participated in a status conference call with Judge Allan Gropper. Judge Gropper will not be issuing a ruling tonight. ALPA does not know when Judge Gropper will issue a decision. The extension of the 30 day period for the Judge to issue a decision expires tonight. Under the law Northwest technically could implement its proposal pending decision by the Judge, but ALPA does not expect the company to do so absent advance notice.

The Negotiating Committee continues to meet around the clock with NWA management. Progress is being made, but some important issues still remain unresolved. Negotiations during the next 24 hours will be very intense and we will communicate significant news as soon as possible.

The Company and PFAA reached a tentative agreement at about 11:00 a.m. today. Details are not available at this time.

Local news in MSP reporting the judge will see them again tomorrow at 1800. He feels they are making some process.

Negotiators are exhausted and expected to continue working throughout the night.

Management at both companies sure like to have their cake AND eat it too. It is absolutely disgusting to see management come back for even MORE cuts, especially after Delta has already given up 32.5% and then another 20 something percent. So basically they are doing the exact same job a couple of years ago for half the money.

I am curious to know what management has done to increase/create new revenue for the bottom line. Slashing workers wagers is only a fraction of the equation but the workers are paying full price. An absolute shame.

I have several friends at both NWA and Delta and I am sincerely hoping for the best of a really bad situation for you. Good lck.

You obviously don't remember Capt. Randy Babbit (EAL) who was the ALPA president long after EAL disappeared.

You don't even have to be a pilot to hold the office of ALPA President. DW would be unaffected.
