The biggest threat most cops here in the south face is dying from food poisoning after sitting at the Waffle House all day. Or choking to death on a Krispy Kreme. They don't do much else except issue revenue boosting speeding tickets.

...and the next "revenue boosting ticket" traffic stop one officer makes can be his/her last when that driver happens to be on the FBI's top ten list.

jeez, the sensitive ones never get satire.

First, obviously I included all none non-121 operators in the realm of "professional" aviators...

Second, obviously I know flying at my regional is safer than my 2 mile commute to work....

Third, the sheer number of people on this board that don't understand sarcasm is almost deafening.

But OOOOH I was a cropduster or bush pilot... Go play with your self.

Buzzed post, I apologize.

Oh and bush pilots tend to die because of their environment and inherent risks, NOT due to a lack of professionalism, skill, or foresight. In case any of the jagoff kinder-kids need my reassurances.

Oh you are so wise you spike hared one! Now go play with your IPod

I love it! You misconstrue my words, I straighten your dumb a$$ out and you come back with that! You might be dumb but your funny. Keep up the entertainment dummy!

By the way "spike hared" should be "spike haired". If your going to make feeble attempts at insults I must insist that you use proper spelling. Your punctuation could use some attention as well. Oh well, what should I expect from a tool that calls himself "dumb pilot".

...and the next "revenue boosting ticket" traffic stop one officer makes can be his/her last when that driver happens to be on the FBI's top ten list.

This is true. The "Potential" is always there. However, in reality, you are much more likely to get killed working the night shift at a convenient store than being a Cop.

Third, the sheer number of people on this board that don't understand sarcasm is almost deafening.

That's because of the nature of an internet message board. Readers can't see your facial expressions, or hear your sarcastic tone.

Also, people are less likely to accept sarcasm from strangers.

Need I repeat myself katanabob?

Zasca,

do everyone a favor: stop typing, shut off the computer, walk away, don't come back.

Talk about a temper tantrum... someone dropped their binky.

You said something idiotic, were called on it. Learned nothing and responded with yet another idiotic tirade.

...just quit

When you tell someone who you do not know that you are a pilot, what do they ask? "What airline do you fly for?" So, the general public (CNNs audience) thinks that being an airline pilot is dangerous since that is the only professional pilot that they know.

Although I do not have any exact numbers, I would say that a vast majority of professional pilots are 121 pilots. Therefore, 90% of the "danger" comes from 10% of the workforce.

I don't think that zasca meant that anyone was unprofessional. This is just a skewed statistic meant to be sensationalistic. Notice how they reference the Comair crash in Lexington. That killed a whopping ONE pilot. Welcome to American media.
