Any and all FAA records regarding the history of administrative actions and accidents/incidents available to it under the Privacy Act and the Freedom of Information Act.
No I'm not a lawyer, I just read it off my last consent form.

What about ur personnel file at ur current company regarding disciplinary letters....can that info be released to a potential employer...thanks.

There has been an update to what is allowed via PRIA.. let me find the AC and I will post it.. All training records are now viewable by potential employers... I.e sim session notes, etc...

You may want to consider being up front an honest with a potential employer regardless of what might or might not be released.

Previously, letters of warning placed in your file would not be releasable under PRIA.

Anything that actually got you suspended and/or terminated WILL show up.

Now, any and all training notes are also releasable under PRIA.

That said, there's nothing that specifically "prohibits" HR from disclosing information to anyone, they just open themselves up for liability.

From a recent inquiry into my background, airTran required the inquiring individual to sign a "release" to obtain additional information.

I have no idea what was released, as the information sent to me (including my PRIA request) is different than what they're sending out (already verified) and you may have NO way of EVER knowing what they say about you.

Better to be 100% upfront and honest...

Durn...

What can they release? Any damn thing they want to release.

What must they release? I recommend that you read the latest update of PRIA.

Bob

I hope they don't find out about that "incident."

Personel file, yes but not fully. No internal company information like side notes, number of sick calls etc...and you are allowed to view this and copy it in full anytime you want by law.

Training records, Yes and you are allowed to get a copy of them anytime you want by law. I suggest you get copies of both prior to other interviews.

Also verify your criminal record and driving record. A buddy of mine went to check his and found he had a DUI that wasn't his. Someone screwed up and transposed two digits in a SS# and they wound up on his record. Easily fixed and odds are rare, but he wouldn't had known, if he hadn't checked.

Hey man don't worry! If its that bad your current company will probably want rid of you and will send the other company a personnel file that smells of fresh strawberries with happy unicorns on the cover.
