What does it mean when you are in a Pilot Pool?

Are you already hired?

Have they done a background check on you already?

It usually means that you've been interviewed and been offered employment, but no class date (start date) as of yet. So you are in the pool, waiting. In some cases the background checks, etc, have been done before they make a decesion to hire you, sometimes later, just depends on the company.
