This was a test case

An Eastern pilot murdered his Pan Am flight attendent wife back in the seventies. Froze her body and then put it in the woodchipper. Was tried and convicted of murder.

It was a test case that brought forenzic (sp) science to new levels. The pilot was a reserve police officer. He had sent in the warranty card on the chain saw he cut her frozen body parts up with before he sent them through the rented woodchipper. They found a fingernail piece with her nail polish on it and one thread from her night shirt in the chain saw or woodchipper. He had filed the number off the chainsaw, but they were able to bring it back chemically.

I saw the story and it would freak the crap out of me to fly with the guy.

Of course, if the man is innocent, the whole situation sucks for him.

An ORD based United FO killed his wife and chopped off her legs in 1991/92?. He stole a C150 from DPA (possible suicide idea) and was caught later that day in Dwight, Illinois.

...and let us not forget the fedex nutcase pilot that went beserk in the airplane over memphis. he was weilding a hatchett.

Actually, his weapons included two claw hammers, two sledge mallets, a knife and a speargun. No "hatchett", or even a hatchet.

You don't need a strike to grow a scab. He (along with EVERY other nonmember) earned his title independent of any job action. What an embarrassment. I mean, jeez, it's one thing to kill your wife, then drive her minivan into MS and burn her up, but to be on the nonmembers list?!? What a loser.

Yea, I've flown with the guy. Goes by the nickname "Fireball". Drives a fire engine red corvett. Favorite drink is a "Flaming Sambuca". Always seems to be in a big hurry, you know like "where's the fire dude?". Always hear him refering to "taking a drink from the fire hose". I could never get it cold enough for him in the cockpit, kept saying "dang it's hot in here". Chain smoked like a smoke stack. Kept talking about his favorite movie, "The Towering Inferno". Always carried his Jepps around in a 5 gallon gas can with a modified lid. And always quick with a lite of your smoke! Yea, that's him. Seemed OK to me, just a little "hot under the collar" sometimes.
