Absolutely!!! You can't be charged or disciplined if you protect yourself. I certainly would have giving this guy a good old fassion ASS-Whipping he should have received when he was young. Tough talk is just that...TALK! Once he'd raise your hand, his intent was to create harm.

Maybe if someone walks up to you unprovoked. If you provoke someone...in uniform...in front of passengers...then I don't think you can call that exactly unworthy of discipline. That guy will do a carpet dance, at a minimum. He should be fired.

What reason would the pilot have to even be dealing with this guy. He was definitely egging him on. Call security and walk away, instead he got slapped, he wanted to fight the guy. Even though he didn't fight back he sure didn't make his regional airline look very good.

What airline was this? This pilot is an idiot. The drunk guy walked away and sat down. He still was talking but it was over, the pilot could have walked away. He deserves some sort of discipline, maybe not getting fired but a few unpaid days off. And then after all that when the guy stepped up the captain froze like a deer in headlights and had to have his FO back him up. Pathetic.

Lol-tough guy pilot only mouthed off because he knew he had people around that he could hide behind. Looks like many of the pax were laughing at him and he had to suck in the size 48 belly. Once the guy was on the ground, only then did he start mouthing off again. Surprised he didn't kick the guy in the head once he was down. "Yeah, you just sit there." Lol.
