Airplane pilots are no better at driving than anyone else.

I became a better driver because of all the practice from having to drive from place to place looking for a new job all the time.

Nope, right lane. Unless you're the one trying to get around me, then I swerve back and forth so you can't.

Actually where I live I do end up doing it in the left lane sometimes because everyone else is going 10 under the speed limit, and that's when there aren't any cops around.

I actually greased two yesterday! (out of four) and am becoming quite a bit more confident, noticed that helps A LOT!

I think I was a better driver when I actually thought it was fun to drive. I don't really think flying has anything to do with it but driving is just so boring. I can't wait until we have auto drive and I can just go to sleep and set an alarm to wake me up when the car gets me there.

I became a better driver once I decided to pursue aviation as a career. I was lucky enough to straighten up before I got any tickets on my record.

One of my college professors preached about how our driving record was a reflection of our flying ability whether it was true or not. Every interview I have been on I was asked about my driving record and it felt good to say "its clean".

Aucfi has been telling me to slow down for a long time. I finally have slowed it down a bit. Though, I still tend to get tickets when I'm not intending to speed. Its always the one second I grab something out of the backseat or daydream. I'll look down and be like, man I should slow down, then look up and my luck theres a cop trapping. I'm up to like 3 tickets on record. I really hope I've seen the last of them.

Flying can improve aspects, but overall? No, probably not. Take multi-tasking for example. If you choose to change the station on your radio while driving, you might be able to split between the two tasks, but you also have to speed up your reaction time because your attention span percentage is reduced from driving. Flying doesn't improve your reaction time enough to make you a safe, multitasking driver. It's mainly a question of when it's safe to multitask and when it's not. I've seen my fair share of horrible drivers and believe that genetics and how you were raised determines your driving record.
