True if you keep 9 days off and break 72 hours. I'm sure your RSV line only has 10 days off. If you call in sick for a day then forget about it. Make sure you're gonna break your guarantee of 72 hours also. It would be dumb to drop yourself to 9 days off and still only make 72 hours of pay.

Remember 10 days off was contractually negotiated. Hate to see mgmt take that one to the bargaining table. "But the pilot group picks up work taking them below 10 days off a month." Before you know it you will only be guaranteed 9 days off a month. Be careful.

anyone know about our commuter clause. i've already listed for like a billion flights for tomorrow, i'm registered as a commuter. i've never really had to use the commuter clause int he past two years i've been here. just curious as to how schedules will react if i can't get on my primary flight. any stories or words of wisdom when dealing with our scheduling when it comes to commuter clause stuff...

As long as you listed 24 hours ahead of time, and there were seats at that time, you are covered. Make sure you call if you don't make your first flight and let them know... Be sure to tell them you are complying with your responsibility under the commuter clause. Give 'em a shot at positive spacing you to work.

If you miss the trip, you won't get paid for the legs lost. You won't get bi*ch slapped by SBY either, so I guess its a wash.

no i took vacation this month so i'm just tryin to beat em up for 120 hrs of pay.... i wouldn't drop below 10 days off... that's barely enough!

I don't know if you've already checked it out, but I believe if you're off and want to pick up work with a reserve line, you can pick up open times. If available this may earn you even more money.

this place is short staffed geeez, i just spoke with a scheduler regarding commuter clause stuff, and they have 3 reserves system wide tomorrow (monday) (f.o) and 1 (c.a)

They're talking about the JAX/CLT/ROA D.E.

I know the other one too. Swapping aircraft with him, told him #2 flamed out, but since we got it re-lit, we didn't write it up. The look on his face for that one second was priceless, then he realized we couldn't be serious...

I think I was capped out in March that year! I do remember being away from home 12hrs and getting 16hrs of pay!
Being short staff sucks, but here comes all the premium pay trips again!! Nice starting a line of flying with 120hrs of pay credit!!!

Bring on the Premium Pay Trips!!!!
Baby needs new shoes!!

Typical. It seems to me that this would be an excellent time to not pick up anything extra. Then your MEC should offer to open up sec 6 negotiations a little early and we may be able to help.

Very cool of you!

Sec 6 still won't get us new airplanes, upgrades anytime soon, or a certain future. More pay is always welcomed, but I don't think people are leaving because the pay is that bad. The future appears uncertain and at times grim, considering we have all but given up on a flow through and just found out we are scoped out of -400s. They tellus they are seeking new airplanes, but every -300 they look at is either too expensive or not right for some reason. FOs are leaving to go to a company that is more likely to be around in a few years when it is time to upgrade.

We have given up on the flow through? I think not. We are going to have to be patient and wait for the AAA/AWA integration to be complete before we get serious movement on that front. Talk to C.M. about it (flow through chairman).

As for being scoped out of the Qs, that is true. Sort of. Mainline won't want to fly those, but they will want some seats for fur-holed pilots. They will play ball if we do. As long as it is growth flying, who would care?

flow through

Sure we'll ask CM about the flow through. Oh btw thats the guy who retires in a year, right? I sure flow though is real high on his priority list. He doesn't a flying foxtrot about the pilot group and especially about the junior pilots. Flow though won't happen in the next 5+ years. Oh wait, lets sue our parent company, thats a great idea! I think PDT has just re-defined dysfunctional.

CB

CM is nowhere near retirement.
