I still like the UA on tail...when did that start in mid/late 1970's?

I don't know the answer to your question for sure.

But, I should think we could have done a better job than this!!!! Looks like CRAP, if you ask me. The font is horrible.

Probably some executive's sister or something came up with this!!

Wouldn't this post be better served on Airliners.net or an Embry-Riddle blog. All of us will do a double take the first time we see a Continental plane that says United or a United Airbus in new colors, but will become quickly accustomed. Can anyone say they honestly care what the paint scheme is other than hard core enthusiasts?

Wake up on the wrong side of the bed today? ;)

I really don't give a rat's ass how it's painted as long as my bank account gets bigger on the 1st and 16th of every month.

Why is everybody shocked... this paint scheme has been out for a few months. Granted it ain't pretty but like captain x says it can be ugly as long as my bank account gets bigger on the 1st and 16th

It's just a sign of the innovative minds running the airline. Such clues of mediocrity should never go unnoticed. It could provide hints of what to expect from this breed of managers.

I give it 3 years maximun...

And Yup you'll be happy to know that SkyWest is already starting to repaint our CRJ 200's and 700's in the new livary. SkyWest probably wouldn't gamble on new paint jobs if the flying was going away?

My personal opinion is this paint scheme was more of a pacifier for the CO. side to show "we are in this together," which we are. I don't think too many folks are excited about the paint scheme and it may not be around all that long.

As for how important is it on a scale of 1 to 10.........0. Last I checked I can't see the tail from my seat. It's all about the bank account, period.

I actually like the way the airplane looks.... What was the status of the white and blue UAL paint job? The one that came after the two-tone dark blue but never made it to the whole fleet. Was that UAL Shuttle colors? Using the CAL color and scheme reminds of that paint job.
