Hey, I'm all for it. Things at PSA are so bad that I wouldn't wish this company on my worst enemy. Mangt. breaks the contract left and right, the lines are so bad that its just about worth bidding reserve and there are more jerks for jobs coming. If you just got a job here RUN!!!! upgrade is never going to happen. You'd be better off at mesa then PSA and I HATE mesa.

mamba,

I had a few beers with a training Captain at PSA on a PHL overnighter... He was J4J dude and he said that the whole operation at PSA was Shizzzznit!!!
But PDT isn't roses either!!!

It is the most senior base along with CLT.

Actually, MDT might be short on FOs... I sit reserve in CHO and I've been going up there for trips a lot recently. So have other guys in my class. It is severely senior for captains though. Guys with 15 years seniority are sitting reserve as captains over there.

I flew with a J4J guy who ripped on our FO's nonstop. Little did he know the guy who I was replacing was my sim partner. After he got done bashing him I told him that was my buddy and I'll let him know about his weak areas so he can work on them and improve his flying skills. I also told him I would let my buddy know who was giving the criticism. Before I left I told him to get all of the bashing out of his system and rip on me because I would rather him do it to my face instead of behind my back. He kind of squirmed in his seat and just chuckled a bit. Nice guy.

I flew with a guy once who said all PSA pilots are just here to "play" airline pilot and that we were all idiots. What does J4J stand for again? Jerks for Jobs right?

Tell him thanks for the heads up, and you'll make the best of the next 30 years 'learning your craft' and planning for a retirement outside the company's hands. 30 years is enough time, right? You think I can scrape something together in three decades? I mean, I only have that long... is that enough?

Rat bastards.

LMAO.

You can't fault a man for being kicked in the sack as many times as they have... until they bring the fight to the cockpit. What the HECK did an FO at PSA do to get him there? Nothing... except delay upgrades.

Yeah, that'd be excellent, our 30 year captains can sit in the right seat to punk a$$ kids and learn how it's really done.

It may get even better than that. 30 year PDT Captains may sit right seat to those great MDA guys flowing back to PDT/PSA, along with those great J4J's ;-)

I doubt that a merger is likely. Training costs in the $20-$30M range for one. Then the increased cost of applying the better PDT contract to PSA. There is no benefit to combining the TP ops with the Jet ops other than decreased management costs and that might change in the future anyway with more and more of the WO Express management being handled from Tempe.

Unless, PDT and PSA are sold to Mesa, AWAC or others, a much more likely scenario. Or should I say the flying/assets will be sold as seen in the divestiture of MDT to Republic. Good Luck!

I thought it was Jets for Jerks?!?

I have to correct myself, I just got to thinking and realized that a PDT/PSA merger is exactly what is going to happen. Because it makes absolutely no rational or economic sense! Just as everything else at US, and we thought things had changed with the takeover by AW.

I guess it is not going to be "Jets for Jerks", but instead "Turboprops for Jerks" :)

By the way, I am just repeating the quote as it's out there in good humor. I know many of the J4J's that went to PSA and most are great guy and gals, so no offense!

By the way the quote originates from an unknown Mesa captain who made the remark on ramp freq after being pissed at a J4J driver that got into an argument with a ramp controller in CLT.

I must admit that some of these J4J's are nice guys and wish them all the best but there are certainly some true @-holes especially in the '99 hire mainline hire date. Some of those guys walk around like their shiat don't stink and don't even have 1000PIC period nevertheless fly the plane correctly.

Just how will a PSA/PDT merger work? If that happens I guess I have to warm up my seat in the Dash because I certainly won't be senior enough to hold the jet.

So for those senior PDT folks that can hold the jet, will the company pay for their jet training while more junior pilots have to transfer from the jet to the Dash? I cant seem to justify the waste of money that would produce.

you're right there are a lot of nice guys but its hard to remember them cause the few buttpoke mountain c@cksuckers remain in your memory. what really burns me is that these as$wipes that talk as if they're dying to get out of here are going to pass on recall. what a slap in the face to all of us non j4jers. this j4j agreement is so flawed . there should be no passing up recall, that is total shite. i understand that some of you guys make more here than you would at mainline and you have a better schedule here. thats fine, you can stay here but you should no longer have the option of waiting to be captain on a 190 to get recalled. u passed on it, you're done. your high and mighty j4j status is now revoked and you are a full blown PSA pilot, ENJOY. i just made myself really mad, i'm going to go beat up a midget now.

Ya had me, then you lost me.

We're cockaroaches, mang. We can't die. The assets are worthless (who needs CRJ200s? DCH100s? NOBODY) to another operator, and the tickets just aren't worth juggling right now.

This info comes directly from Piedmont management. Just be patient and give it until the end of Feb. At the end of Feb, you all can tell me that I was full of sh!t.

Believe me, I have better things to do than make crap up.

*checks watch*

You are full of sh!t.

Nice one! This is definitely worth bumping an old thread!
