NCFlyer said:The last time that I talked to my LEC rep about the whole issue was about 6 weeks ago and I was told several situations are interfering with the possible return of PDT/ALG pilots.
1. The company management is against it.
2. The position of the UMEC is that any MDA/CEL pilot will be senior to a CEL pilot that didn't move to MDA. That would mean that in the future if U recalls all of their pilots and starts to hire through the flowthrouh the most junior MDA pilot would be senior to any CEL pilot that stayed at PSA/PDT/ALG. That wasn't part of the original agreement.
3. The MDA/CEL pilots will be included in the USA/AWA merger agreement, while any other CEL pilot has no part in the merger agreement.
4. It is my understanding that the PDT MEC is against any agreement that permits the MDA/CEL pilots to bypass the seniority of any other CEL pilot just because they exercised their right to bid MDA.
Personally I believe the MDA/CEL pilots should be allowed to flow back to PDT/ALG with a few limitations:
1. They must have come from either PDT or ALG before they went to MDA.
2. They must bid for an open position.
3. Their return will not result in any current pilot losing his/her job.
Note:
I am not a MEC/LEC member nor do I speak for either the MEC or LEC.

That about sums it up. The U mec did the right thing by putting those guys on their list. They are flying under the U certificate, they have to be on the U seniority list.Dash8301 said:Your right the company MGT is against the flow back.
And the MEC did tell people not to resign so that they could flow back.
The reason the the US Air MEC gave the "super-seniority to the CEL guys at MDA" was in response to the current MEC Chairmans comment that "We no longer represent you" and he told the US Air MEC that they would not be allowed to flow back. So our MEC in fact caused the problem of a) not letting them come back, and b) allowing US Air MEC to grant them rights they are not entitled to, c) jeopardizing the future for the rest of us who stayed at PDT with the thought of advancing through the established flow though.

lear24 said:Who is "they", former PSA CEL guys getting laid off from MDA or APL guys laid off from U? Anyone trying to go from U or MDA to PSA is a whole other can of worms since those little jets are the very jets traded for jobs. With APL guys having rights to 50% of the seats at PSA, if they're now considering furloughed MDA guys on the APL, they're SOL at PSA.
I agree, FUBAR. AMF.
