Ok, just came from SBY say about an hour ago and I spoke to someone that works there and he told me that PDT maybe getting CRJs that is way they did all that work to the runway. Is their any truth to that?

thats a complete b.s meter jump to a 10, PDT can barely hold onto our crappy 20 year old dash's how do you think we could bare to have crj70 or 90's. (because we know 50 seaters are not happening anymore, especially as communicated from d.parker. so we know we aren't getting 50 seaters, and probably not 70 seaters the only possibiltiy is 90 seaters and thats a long shot like 1 in 10. psa will probably have it voted down, the peeps i have spoke with from psa are pissed at how mgmt talked to them about the new planes. they never did any sort of negotiating. they simply told them what they will fly it for, and since PSA, and actually most airlines contract has it written that any new aircraft pay scale will be negotiated, that very much was not the case, so from what i hear the voting closses on the 1st of aug, and i doubt if it will pass, every single person i have spoke with has voted reject the offer.

They did the work on the runway at SBY because all those "free range" chickens were roosting on it. There were too many feet and beak holes, and feathers. Not to mention every time Sig lands there, they crap all over the place, so it was easier to resurface than clean it.

I like the chicken story, but the real reason for narrowing the rwy was to gain Federal funding. The Gov will not give an airport $ for that short of a rwy unless it narrow enough. So they spent lots of money ripping up pavement, decreasing safety, to gain federal funding!

Acutally, I'm just doing my part by changing the slope of 14.

Jets at Piedmont now that's gonna happen. We all just need to be realalistic and understand that it will be many many moons before Piedmont ever gets any new equipment. Let alone CRJ's. Life's better being content with what we have than being constantly let down by rumors that will never hapen. Our management continues to fail us. Plus the runway is being updated incase the Bird Flu hits the Eastern shore to aid relife shipments.

I believe the first CRJ seen at SBY will probably be a DL bird from ATL. I've heard the airport board is trying to attract a second airline to the airport.

we'll get CRJ 200's after they are 17 years old and no one else in the indutry uses them anymore.

I guess you can expect some Comair equipment in like 2 years then.

This dead horse PDT/jet issue is over a decade old.

1998 captain said "In the early 90's we were gonna get F-28's."

1998 fo said "Neato!"

2006 fo says "I heard SBY did runway work so we can get rj's! Neato!"

2006 captain doesn't respond due to depression, deep thoughts of late due child support to 4th wife, if his leatherman would have made it through his whole wrist if security didn't take it, deceiphering if that sting is a new or old hemmorhoid, what the Skywest FA he saw would look like naked, and if that chump in the crashpad drank his beer.
