I don't know what your planning on using it for, but...
I just bought a refurbished Sony Clie SJ20, the model is around 2 years old I think. My intentions are to use it mainly for a pocket logbook for work, and so far it has been awesome. It doesn't have a color screen, but it has a white backlight which is really cool compared to the crappy greenish ones you get on other black and white models. Plus the battery lasts an hour or two short of forever. If your looking to download pictures and really advanced programs, you probably want to go with a color one. I've heard that the Palm Tungsten E is pretty good. No matter what you decide to buy, try finding it on ebay first, you'll save a few bucks for sure...plus no taxes.
While I'm at it, I bought logbookpro and the palm logbook from airlinelogbook.com, and those two things are frickin awesome.
