Colgan

Beech FOs start at 17
SAAB FOs start at 20

Goes up 1.50 every year.

Beech Cpts start at 30
SAAB 33 I think

Colgan salary scale-

beech fo $17/h $2/hr pay raise yr untill 3rd year then $1.5/hr
saab fo $20/hr

Beech cap 29/hr $1.5/hr pay raise yr
saab cap $36/hr

10 yr/salary scale

lead capt's get $1.15 /hr on top of pay rate.

could be better!

Is Colgan hiring right now? What is the life-style at Colgan like? I sent a resume in there a couple of days ago, and haven't heard anything. Just wondering their plans

As far as I know, we are still hiring for an Aug Beech class. They just ran another Beech and Saab upgrade class, so they might be looking for Saab FOs as well.

Life style at Colgan is good. We do out and backs so you're home, or at least at your base every night. The flying is plentiful and you get a minimum of 10 days of each month. I have 17 days off this month and am blocked for 80 hours. The average Beech line has 12-14 days off and is blocked for 70-80 hours.

Give Kim Jennings a call 703 257-5999 Ext. 225 and ask if she's received your resume.

Good luck

just a few more questions about colgan:

1. Where are the pilot bases at?
2. Is it easy to commute?
3. is there a training contract?
4. There posted minimums are 1500, are they really getting pilots with that many hours, and do they hire lower then that?
I think that is about all...thanks for the response

1. Where are the pilot bases at?

Beech bases: BHB, AUG, LEB, PWM, HYA, ALB, LAN, HEF, BKW
Saab bases: PQI, HYA, PWM, PVD, HEF, HTS

2. Is it easy to commute?

Most schedules are commutable.

3. is there a training contract?

Yes, 1 year

4. There posted minimums are 1500, are they really getting pilots
with that many hours, and do they hire lower then that?

Yes, ther are getting people with those hours, and some with much more. They are also hiring people with less.

What is a lead Capt.?

Each base has a lead captain. All they do is distribute jepp and company manual revisions when they come in. If the base needs forms, they call down to HQ and get the forms sent. They don't do a whole lot.

Mintim216,

If you we're still interested, here is the first few years of the new contract that was ramed down our throats at PSA. I tried to use my new scanner to get the whole thing on here but it did'nt work so I just typed up the first few.

PSA 30-36 Seat Turboprop Equipment.

Don't ask about the jet rates. They're a slap in the face. You could pretty much just add .25 to the above.

During training, which lasts about 6 weeks, you will be paid 0-1YR pay @ your 72hr guarantee plus 24hr Per Diem for everyday day at training. Per Diem is 1.45 per hour. Your own hotel room will also be covered.

When you become a line holder your guarantee goes to 75 hours.

Some of the following will start in Aug. and I think some is already in effect:

Block or Better
100% Cancellation
Day Off Pay @1.5 times the hourly rate
Junior Manning Pay @1.5 times the hourly rate
Pay for Early Reports and Extensions @1.25 times the hourly rate

Hope this helps.

Excuse the all the dashes in the text. I could'nt get the spaces I wanted in between the numbers without typing a bunch of dashes, and it still came out like crap.

CeYa
