I would invite every ASA pilot to realize that a CRJ 700 paycut, is a payctut across the board for all ASA pilots. The company is essentially proposing that the top tier of our payscale be taken away.

The company would have us approach future negotiations with a "sacrifice of a few" attitude. This is the mindset the company spin would like us to have. We must not fall into this trap.

Another trap to be avoided is believing the unguaranteed promises of future growth. Without proper holding company bound scope, this is an empty promise.

And while we're at it, I realize "the world needs ditch diggers too". In this situation, I am the ditch digger. I didn't go to business school and yeah I should've studied harder, but...it is absolutely insane to expect me to willingly accept a paycut from a profitable company, while giving all other employees a payraise. "ARE YOU HIGH?" is the only response which comes to mind.

Good business talent costs cash. I know that. But good business talent ain't what we got here at the ASA GO, so please don't insult my meager intelligance by demanding a paycut from me, but giving the poop sucking truck driver, and my boss, a raise.

And please do not insult my intelligence by telling me the matched sections of the contract are worth the trade. The needed improvements in quality of life, work rule, and scope are simply not there.

BusCap,

You are Right. Paycut is a paycut. The guys who say different are Flamethrowers with nothing better to done than rant on an open message board. Call it Anti Union or whatever. You take a paycut with only empty promises and you are not too bright. Business management 101 is to get all cost down to increase profits. ASA is in the black. We only need paycuts to make more profit. BL is going to line his Silk Purse not the employees.

Gosh...with that avatar I'm almost ashamed you agree with me. But thanks...I think.

Everyone At Asa Needs To Read This Post! Someone In The Lounge Print Some Copies Of This And Leave Them Around Please!

Er, why? They are just doing what AA, DL and NW do...and Tower and Eastern before them...

Hiding cash and lining their pockets..and blaming the hourly types while they get rich.
