I know that I am paid guarantee and perdiem during training at CAL but when is the first pay check or perdiem check sent out? How does that whole thing work? Also, does the hotel allow you to just charge meals to your room and then pay for it at the end or is it on a meal by meal basis?

Thank you

If I remember correctly they pay you on the 15 and the 30th starting day one... The per diem is included on the 15th check. First year pay you get $750 on the 30 and the rest in the 15th.

If you are at the Marriott you can put a CC on file and I think they want you to pay up once a month. Plus you can walk to the terminal for grub which is cheaper than the hotel with your discount. If you at the La Quinta... they have free breakfast and all other meals are on your own.

Normally, you get paid a $750 advance at the beginning of the month. The rest of that month's pay is paid the middle of the following month.

For example, on January 1 you get $750. On February 16, you get paid for all of January, minus the $750 you were paid six weeks before.

For training, I think you get your advance check the first week, then they catch up on the regular pay sequence on the next check. But I could be wrong.

Unless it's changed, trainees stay at the LaQuinta, so charging meals to your room would be a little hard. The places to eat close to the LQ suck, but there are a couple places across JFK Boulevard. Somebody's bound to have their car though, so that'll help break the monotony.

If they have you staying at the Marriott, there's an underground train (and pedestrian tunnel) that connects to the terminals so you can get your grub on. You'll get your CAL ID on day 2 or 3 of class, so you'll be able to get through security, and get the standard 10% airport employee discount. And IAH has some pretty good places to eat, especially Terminal E.

pay is 750 on the 1st, the full prior month on 16th minus the 750 paid on first. Pay is 29.97 for 76 hour pay gaurantee while in training, plus 44.00 perdium per day for each day in training... That's every day since day one till the end. Comes out to approx ....

75.90 per day flight pay plus 44.0 perdium = 120.00 per day while in training

If you are put up in La Quinta, you will probably be happier. Close to training, van at all times, free internet, and BREAKFAST!!! Tha save a great deal of money. The hotel will not allow any built up expenses accept what you put on your credit card. There are restaraunts next to la quinta, not the marriot unless you each for 12 dollars each meal @ marriots own restaurant or head into airport terminal for meals. La Quinta also has refridgerators. Put yourself on the waiting list early. My suggestion is to buy one at walmart and sell in to another in a later class before you leave for 40-50 bucks. NO WAITING!!!

Enjoy, good luck.... Hope this helps... First paycheck comes pretty quick, we had ours within first two weeks. Started late month and first check came on 4th. Little later than 1st because they were still sorting out paperwork. Lightning fast in my book...
