I wasn't there for Atkin's visit. I have been told by friends at SKW that he tells it like it is.

For those of us who weren't there/forgot. What did he say about transferring assets?

I just took a $300.00 a year pay cut. I was informed today by our insurance company, that my sons medication will cost me $25.00 dollars more a month. Also if you have the family plan with our insurance company the premium went up. So there is another PAY CUT. NO MORE PAY CUTS!

He said the flying would go to the most cost effective operator and that ASA's 70 seat rates made us too expensive, that all of our 70's would be transferred and that if there was not a concessionary agreement he could not say what future ASA had, but that ASA would continue to shrink. He said that we might get a good 70 rate, but that it would not make any difference because the airplanes would be taken off our property. He said this wasn't whipsaw, just good business. Several pilots in attendance did tell him the truth - it is whipsaw.

Now don't think just because I'm repeating what he said, that I agree. If ALPA would flex it muscles a little we could negotiate scope which would force flying to stay at ASA, or at least favorable integration and jobs for our pilots if our flying gets transferred.

If ALPA really wanted to sign up SkyWest, they would show how effective they are at protecting jobs and securing growth. Then SkyWest would sign for fear of being shut out of the bargaining.

Instead - we still have a pension plan on the table - UUURRRGGGHHHHH!

Sounds like its time to get Haber on the phone and sue those bastards at SKYW for stealing your flying!
