many well known, reputable schools have degree programs that apply credit for previous adult work experience. However, these credits are not just applied, you need to demonstrate your competency in certain areas.. this typically translates into writing a paper. It's a great way to build some credit hours without actually having to take classes, and it's typically much, much cheaper as well... but it's also no joke, and not necessarily an "easy way" out.
that said, be very, very careful which school you chose to do this with. There was recently a Dateline or 60 Minutes segment on internet "universities" issuing degrees to people... "universities" claiming some obscure accredidation. If I were you, find a well known school that offers distance learning, and caters to adult life experience education... there's plenty of these schools out there. For example, my girlfriend goes to DePaul.
