Just turned 40 semi recently and I wear contacts.
I have been having a hell of a time passing the vision
test (1st class) through the machine, don't know what they call it.
I have my vision checked regularily and the eye doctor
says it is 20/20. I asked him about the machine
and he gave me some info that sometimes some people
have a hard time focusing using the machine. I know there
is a form to fill out that the eye doctor can use that I can
give to the AME, but I am more concerned about failing
a medical.

Any ideas/thoughts?

Go to your eye doctor right before your medical. You can download an FAA form that your optometrist can fill out saying your vision is corrected that you give to your AME and you are exempt from doing the vision part.

This is a good idea. I've had the same complaint. The box is old and the card is too.
