Part 61 Training

I have decided to get all of my ratings at a local part 61 FBO. I have also decided not to do the 141 training at a university. Would it be better to get my training at the FBO, and get a degree in aviation management, or get a degree and learn to fly at the university? Do employers care if your training was part 61 or 141? Thanks

1) Get a dgree in something else, as a backup in case you are laid off or lose your medical.

2) Employers don't generally care if you were part 61 or 141.

3) Work hard, do well, good luck.

Part 61

I went to a 141 school to get all my ratings...

I now an a CFI at a 61 school and can tell you it does not matter wether you go to a 61 or a 141 school...what matters is your instructor. If you have a good instructor that cares you will have fun and learn all you need to know.

The schooling does not matter as much as finding a good CFI.

I would say neither. Do your training and get an FBO in a field outside of aviation. When your butt lands furloughed on the street or you lose your medical, you'll be glad you did.
