Chalk another vote up for talking to the CP. My company also views CFI'ing as commercial work and does not allow it. Unpaid or not, why play with fire?

I actually got the "other commercial flying" from another thread that avbug commented on, at my previous employer we operated under supplemental rules I was always close to flight time limits each month, are you saying that this wouldn't interfere with those limits (100/mos)? I finally just found a 91 seat warming job to make extra money.

Certainly flight instruction is other commercial flying...and yes, it will interfere with your flight time limitations.
