OK, don't let him fly the planes, got it.

When was his last drink BTW? How about yours?

Isn't it a requirement to be drunk prior to posting on FI?

Good luck to everyone at AMR and LCC. I'd take shots at Parker, but I'd trade Smisek and his team for Parker and his team any day of the week. We can argue about advantages Parker has, but he's turned LCC into a very profitable company.

What's there to argue about?

Anything but "Honorary" for Horton would be vehemently opposed by American's Unions. It's going to be tough enough making all the different organized groups play nice. So who cares if it's Parker or the Easter Bunny that takes over the helm, just as long as it's not Horton it'll be a net positive.

Besides if you compare their records based on profitability it's a slam dunk!

After having Wolfe and then Siegal as a CEO it's actually been nice having Parker as a CEO. He has turned US Airways around and comes to meetings each month and gets beat up sometimes from employees on Q & A's. He doesn't have to show up for those crew news events but he does. I think he does it because he really enjoys the airline industry and loves running a airline. Not just looking for the Golden Chute like many we've had in the past. Only time will tell however.

We all have our faults and may he without sins cast the first stone.

I think Parker will do a fine job. Lets all hope! :)

Wolf... Not Wolfe... And the airline was a hell of a lot better under Wolf. It had nearly twice as many employees, we were paid far better and we had pride in our product. Parker, among employees, has a reputation as an occasionally irresponsible frat boy who never wears a coat and tie. We have become the Walmart airline under Parker. I fully expect more of the same, just a slight transformation into a Superstore Walmart.

At bankruptcy pay rates for all employees.

So it was a level playing field when compared to other airlines, other than Southwest. ALL of our pay rates have been down the crapper for a long time. Until this latest United contract, I was making more per hour in 2002 than any year since.

The Unions - What a Cluster that is going to be

USAPA East V USAPA West V APA that is going to be a very interesting scenario, I wonder who will win? This should be good for at least a 100 pages.
They may even knock SWAPA V AT(ALPA) of the forum, their squabbles will seem very insignificant compared to what is going to happen during the merger.

And it's Stephen, not Steven. Geez.

Since you at least remember how to spell his name, your recollection of other things at that time is at least provided some measure of credibility.

No one was fawning over Wolf, but things were much better. I can't imagine why some fawn over Parker now. Stockholm syndrome I suppose. :D
