I flew into Springfield on tuesday and noticed about 8 dash-8s in us airways colors but no logos, an unmarked EM2, and a few metros siting to the northeast of the terminal. Just curious if anyone knows why they're sitting there? They look like they've been there for some time. Thanks, Andy

 :(

and there sits my capt position and many other pilot jobs because of one greedy a$$hole MEC chairman. O one day, REVENGE, SWEET REVENGE.

did you happen to notice what the N number ended in? N###HA is a Piedmont aircraft and N###EX is Allegheny. There is some overlap as management shifts aircraft back and forth at will. (no we're not one company or anything like it) Allegheny has basically lost 10 aircraft since this time last year. 55 to 45 aircraft. There is also a EI-CHP and EI-CBJ floating around. They were also Allegheny aircraft we picked up from Ireland.

A few others we lost are up in Canada CYUL, I saw one in the southwest side hangar west of the terminal that had every panel off, no nose cone/radar, nose gear off, props/engines gone and the wings outboard of the ending nacells removed.
Pretty sad.

4 or 5 more to go in Aug/Sept. with no replacements.:(

Last I heard (it was a while ago), Michelle was calling people in the "pool" to see if they still wanted to be in it or not for a new hire class. It's a shame what's going on there. Glad I left when I did in Aug 02.

I've heard that those planes in SGF belong to a company that converts them for cargo or corporate duty.

There's a variety of props from many airlines- Dash 8s, Brasilias, Metros, and Saabs. Some of them are stripped of their engines or other parts, so they may be donors for planes being finished in the hangar.

I fly in there every day and park next to those dash 8s on the cargo ramp. Most of them end in EX I think. I'll check it out tomorrow.

In addition to SGF, I think Air Whisky's entire DO fleet is parked in OKC. I counted something like 18 sitting there a couple weeks ago! In the past I've also seen retired Horizon and US Air Fokkers there.

After flying back home out of sgf i was able to get a better look at these ac. some of them had a N---CC reg and there was one or 2 N---HA, also the EM2s we're wearing asa reg's. They we're parked in front of something called wordwide -------- and i noticed quite of a few of the ac we're looking as if they we're becoming parts planes (various parts missing off them, one dash 8 had almost nothing but the wing and body and pax windows left). Seemed like an odd place for an ac chop shop though.

There is a maintenance company there that refurbs commuter aircraft for the leasing companies and also converts them to cargo. Once in a great hile they will do an exec conversion, but not very often. I have picked up or dropped off aircraft there for many years.
